Suitable for only 1 night

The location of this residence is very good in terms of closeness to shopping centers, restaurants and so on (close to Osman bey/ Nişantaşı area) however it will take you ages to get there. It's in the middle for very tight streets and up a hill e.g. it's not suitable for special needy people. It might be good to a solo traveler, a young guy who has nothing to risk or someone who is staying in Istanbul for a very short trip. It's not expensive too. You might not get a signal for wifi if you are in the bedroom as the machine is at the entrance.

U most try it if u go to istanbul
Best location in city and have wifi free
Rooms are clean and has every thing for use
Stuff speaks english and they are good too

Nice staff, especially the lad that worked night shift. Bless him he helped us to order food as we arrived very late and hungry. The hotel was only 15-20 walk distance to Taksim Square and Osmanbey metro station was just few blocks away. The hotel location is a bit tricky to find if you arrive late. Room wasn't as shown on the picture, it was very small room for 3 people and we could barely move around and we had view straight into someone's house so that was a bit uncomfortable.

The plus side was that they have kitchen with frigde and cutlery so you can prepare your own breakfast.

Poor conditions and staff attitude

Me and my friends received a room that had nothing to do with the photos seen on the internet:extremely small; missing water; awful smell; tiny wardrobe for 2 persons which was in fact for only 1 person; heating not working-used air conditioning to heat the room. I was requested to accept room and speak with someone in charge the following day. We arrived late in the evening and even though the location is quite in the city center, I would say I feel secure. It's a dirty area where people are throwing in the street anything. In case I decide to return to Istanbul, I would definitely not choose this hotel/area. I'm still waiting the next morning to see what bad surprises I might have from the hotel, as I paid for breakfast, but at check-in when I asked, the person said he doesn't know if I have breakfast or not included.

Basic and affordable accomodation

Troya is basic and affordable type of accommodation with very attentive staff. Good value for the money we paid (the discounted price was around 40 Euros). Wifi was free, but a little bit slow. We found a very cheap, clean and nice place to eat nearby called Pehlivan. It was also nice to walk in Macka Park nearby.
