A calm and decent place to stay in Neustadt Dresden

Staff: very helpful and kind.
Room&bathroom: fairly clean, but the beds were really terribly uncomfortable
Location: centric and quiet - excellent if you have business in "neustadt"
General: all the corridors deserve a new carpet - they look really old and dirty.
Summary: it is a decent hotel to stay, good price/value ratio.
Recommended.
Fantastic hotel
Catherine Pon 06/12/2015 19:50We loved this hotel. Kevin at the front desk was so helpful. Told us how to get places, got us an adapter and took care of everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was very good. Room was clean and large for Germany. I will stay ther again.
not bad, but better choice availble
hclion 01/12/2015 18:37Friendly staff and clean room, bathroom a bit smelly, but duvet is really small so they instead turned the heater very high. At the time we book there wasn't many reasonable priced hotels left so this was ok. I would not recommend this if there are other choice in the old town.
Very good hotel
Philip Con 04/11/2015 11:36Good location in Dresden's new town, with a tram stop right outside (about 15 minutes to the centre of the old town by tram). Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room very clean. Bathroom fine. Good price. Nothing to complain about! Would stay here again.
Basic accomodation in Dresden Neustadt
garethc515on 14/10/2015 12:04Tryp by Wyndham in Dresden is a budget hotel option within easy reach of the Neuestadt.
I booked my room using booking.com, which gave a limited description of the room. Unfortunately the description of the room did not match my experience.
The room was booked as an apartment style room, for four adults. This was described as 'two bedrooms and a living room'. In fact, the accomodation was one single large room, with sleeping accomodation for four adults, and a table in between the two bedding areas (the 'lounge', I believe).
The room was advertised as having two double beds, it did not. There was a double bed and a pair of twin beds pushed together, which made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep.
The room we booked was on the fifth floor. Unfortunately, this is also the floor which is used by the cleaning staff as a base of operations. This meant that when they started having very loud conversations with each other before 6am, this was as loud as if they were stood in our actual room.
The room itself was very basic indeed, with no tea or coffee facilities and no fridge or air conditioning.
The wifi provided was unuseably slow, with a strangely antiquated logon process limiting a password to one device only. I can only imagine this is done to preserve bandwidth, however it made no difference as the service was so poor it was not worth logging on.
One positive i can draw from the experience is that check in was handled very smoothly indeed, and my email queries were handled promptly and clearly by the reception staff.
I would not stay at this hotel again.
