What People are saying

Beautiful Location

clorinda452on 04/08/2017 18:09

We had the pleasure to experience Tryp Colina for a family event recently. The location is outstanding as well as the service from its employees. Carlos who checked us in was wonderful and very helpful. The entire dinning room staff was excellent as well. The hotel itself was very pleasant, however, the rooms and bathrooms are a bit out dated. Even though this was the case, it did not lack in cleanliness. It was an excellent value and that also has to be considered. I would definitely come back if in the area.

Great hotel to stay

The hotel is excellent. The staff was likeable (especially at reception). Good cleaning service in the hotel, at room and pool. The pool had excellent conditions.
Great view to the city, next to the castle.

Amazing place to stay in such a beautiful city!

From the staff to the location and the ambience that the hotel had, it was an amazing stay and a wonderful experience so far away from home. There was not one thing that we did not enjoy about our stay!

The hotel is fine, but the restaurant is fantastic

Mister8888on 23/06/2017 10:08

When we stayed here we asked for restaurant recommendations in the town. They suggested the hotel restaurant so I checked the menu and wine list and thoiught we would give it ago. This is the same restaurant used for breakfast - and our experience with breakfast had been good. But the dinner was a knockout - the freshest and tender octopus and young mountain goat that melted in your mouth. The restaurant staff are very friendly and always looking to help. The wine list is well structured and has some good Portuguese whites. The hotel rooms are not designed to mazimize views on one of the sides, so make sure you ask. We paid a supplement for a view. Front desk staff are very helpful as we were just walk-ins with no booking. The rooms are a little old fashioned but functional. All in all a pleasant surprise.

Fine hotel, but broken AC

sftraveler99on 15/06/2017 20:15

The staff was helpful and the room was fine. The balcony is nice, and the breakfast is very good. But the AC barely worked when we got in, and then stopped working completely in the middle of the night. The day's high was only 32 degrees, but it was 37 degrees in the room. I ended up sleeping (and not sleeping) on the floor, near the door to the balcony. When I told the staff the next morning, the woman behind the counter didn't entirely believe me, and said only "we'll look into it." (I understand some suspicion toward Americans who sometimes expect very strong air conditioning, but it's annoying not to be believed. Of course I can tell when the AC isn't working at all.) No discount, no apology. I wouldn't stay here again.
