Rooms To Hot and Noisy

Antony Con 06/08/2017 09:15

We stayed at the hotel during first week of August. We were given a room at the front of the hotel. The room was basic but comfortable, however it was very hot even with the blinds closed all day. There is no air conditioning in the rooms so in order to cool the room to a more comfortable sleeping temperature we openned the windows. This is the main concern with the hotel. With the windows open the room is very noisy as the hotel is close to a busy road and a very busy cineplex, clubs and restaurant area and therefore was very noisy. We really struggled to get a good rest during our week long stay. My recommendation would be to ask for a room overlooking the car park at the back of the hotel.

I have to say that the staff were excellent, very helpful and attentive, breakfast was good and its a good location 10 mins walk from the city centre.

Basic comfort - no atmosphere - just outside city center

Hotel is situated just outside city center - 15' walk - easy accessible from motorways. Just around the corner is the old harbour which is now the place to be. Hotel has private parking which is very convenient as you do not need a car to visit Muenster. Rooms are OK; WIFI is free but unstable. Rooms are well isolatie, no airco. Opening windows during the night had a consequence - even though we slept at the backside (parking side). Non-smoking areas at the backside of the hotel and people smoking and making plenty of noise. Frontside rooms have a mot of traffic noise. Service OK but nothing special.

Great place if you are going to Vainstream or docklands

A nice hotel with the perfect location for the main events in Münster. Close to the Haverkamp for festivals, right by the harbour for walking in the sun and sitting by the water, also close to some fantastic cafes (Kaffeegieserei for example), and only a few minutes walk to the center.

A pleasant stay while we attended a large art exhibition

Lorrin Won 29/06/2017 00:41

Overall a good experience. We came to Muenster to see the Sculpture Project exhibition which was very good and extremely worthwhile. The hotel was located within a few miles of the downtown area and was convenient for our purposes. We stayed three nights.

Our room was clean and comfortable. I was particularly appreciative of the bathroom area which, I assume, had been remodeled in the recent past because the fixtures were modern. The shower area was spacious and in stark contrast to the tiny shower we had in Venice.

The staff was competent, well trained and easily available. The morning complimentary breakfast was very good and we went out well fed every day. The free wi-fi was good although you have to get the password every day. Who but the Germans would think of changing the password and username every day?

I had two complaints. First, the entrance to the parking lot is not marked and is not obvious. There is a former entrance to the hotel parking lot but that has been permanently closed off. One must enter the hotel parking lot through the entrance to the parking lot of the tenant next door. There is no signage to indicate this is the entrance to the hotel and to all appearances, it appears that this lot, which is gated, is for an industrial property. There are two cutouts in this lot that allow you to access the hotel parking lot. The hotel parking lot is not large but was adequate for their needs while we stayed.

My second complaint is that the hotel is not air conditioned. It being early summer, we had to leave one of the windows ajar during the evening (we were out during the day). There are two windows to each room but the second window has no security if opened. The hotel is located on a busy thoroughfare so it is quite noisy if the window is ajar.

In addition, I'll also mention that Muenster must be the bicycle capital of Germany, if not Europe. On any work day there are tens of thousands of bicyclists going to and from work. Both motorists and bicyclists appear well versed in the rules of the road. However, it was a little bewildering for a traveler from the U.S. like me. Bike lanes are well marked and bicyclists stay within the bike lane and obey traffic rules (unlike in many parts of the U.S.). However, there was an every day traffic situation that I found unfamiliar. When there is a right turn green arrow for motorists, one must remain alert to bicyclists in the bike lane (on the right) who apparently have the right of way to continue straight. Keep your eyes on your rear view mirror because in Muenster there will invariably be a number of bicyclists in the bike lane approaching from the rear to clear the intersection. They expect that you will not turn until they have passed.

Comfortable and clean

We had an easy and pleasant one-night stay at this hotel. We were glad to be able to check in two hours early! It is about a ten minute walk from the station and a bit further into town but this was fine for us.
