Exceptional service from management
Evoqueenon 22/08/2017 22:16The hotel's grand entrance nearly makes you feel majestic and that special Spanish Melia perfumed scent is there, but even better there are lots of people at reception so check-un is quick. There is a special counter for Melia card holders which is honoured.
The staff is friendly and courteous with a personal touch. Alberto Ramazini enhanced our stay with a personal gesture. We stayed here twice.
Design of this Tryp hotel as always well thought out in terms of colour and handwritten Tryp signature greetings and an eye on environment-friendly materials.
Meh - nice staff, uncomfortable beds
FIveIslandFarmon 19/08/2017 01:33Pros: Close to the airport with a free airport shuttle, buffet breakfast included, very friendly check-in staff, large room/bathroom, a second door between hallway/bedroom provides great noise reduction.
Cons: Rock-hard mattress, cheap synthetic pillows, worn carpet. The room looked okay but was just not comfortable for me. Luckily, I was only staying one night before my flight out the following afternoon.
The price was good but in hindsight I would rather pay a bit more for a better room.

Convenient but noisy room overlooking garbage bins
PSAtlantaon 15/08/2017 15:36The hotel is convenient to the airport but I paid a set fee of 20 euros for the taxi ride from airport to hotel. On the meter it would have probably been less than 10 euros. The hotel was clean and comfortable except for the fact that my room, 246, was right over the collection point for the hotel's garbage bins and the trucks were there early in the morning. Ask for a card from front desk for free airport shuttle. It stops at this hotel and the nearby Melia and goes on to the airport. The ride was quick and easy and they say it runs every 15 minutes. I did not use the restaurant or room service but noticed the room service menu was mostly pizza. The area around the hotel was crowded with cars but I noticed a McDonald's within walking distance.
problems with shuttle bus, and noisy room.
buttleaon 10/08/2017 22:13We booked this hotel for a layover in Madrid on 9th August. Our flight landed shortly after 9pm but it was well after 11 before we checked in. We called the shuttle as instructed after collecting our baggage (ca 9.35pm) and the bus finally came at 10.45, by which time there were quite a crowd waiting. The driver still stopped to smoke a cigarette and chat with a fellow driver before taking us the the hotel. The families who had crowded on the bus behind us, then beat us in to reception, which meant that check in also took a long time. Our room was ok and I personally found the bed very comfortable. However, the duvets were microfibre, which I don't like at all and the one on my daughter's portable bed was badly stained. We had requested a quiet room,but the window was located a few feet from the hotel entrance and although it was closed we could hear all conversations taking place outside. This continued late into the night and resumed early morning. Breakfast was fine, and reception staff pleasant, but again the shuttle bus let us down. Despite the promise of a bus every 15 mins we waited over half an hour and then had to fight to get on as it became a free for all regardless of who was first in line.
