The room was cosy and clean plenty of room for storage. and bed was very comfortable . The staff where warm and kind and there was very good choice for breakfast Ideal for a long day in the Mountains .
The location is not far from the train station but at the same time is located in a quite area giving a good nights sleep

We liked the location, our room was just fine, comfortable, etc. but the staff made me feel like they wished I had never been born. Just not friendly. NO effort, no smiles, nothing. I really don't think they wanted us there.
Wonderful week at the Tschugge
JWDGlasgowon 13/09/2016 17:52We have stayed in the Tschugge on previous occasions, both summer and winter, and have always been happy. This time, the last week of August, was no exception. Our room was spacious and functional. We had lots of gear to spread out and were more than happy with everything provided, including plenty of wardrobe space, shelves and hangers. The bathroom was also spacious, with plenty of surfaces for toiletries. We had two balconies, with lovely views over the village and of the mountain ridges, perfect for champagne and chocolates on my birthday, which fell during our visit. The food was really fabulous and the waiting staff couldn't have been any more efficient, professional, helpful or friendly. The housekeeping was also excellent. Our room and bathroom were spotless every evening when we returned. Reception staff were happy to assist with any queries and with arranging transport to the train station. This hotel is up from the main street, although only a few minutes so, and therefore benefits from a quiet location. Thank you to all at the Tschugge for a most enjoyable stay.

sjd254on 02/09/2016 05:44Have stayed here twice in past 3 years, 2 days each visit... and absolutely love this hotel. Tschugge is your traditional Swiss chalet-type hotel, cosy and comfortable, but with good amenities for everything you need. has a family-like atmosphere appreciated by guests. Loved the natural large rock walls in the dining and lounge areas. Has a small lift that works well.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable, with beds ensuring quality sleep .... also very quiet. Bathroom amenities were well-stocked, there is a makeup mirror and rooms cleaned thoroughly. Soap and shower gel are in packets. There is no air con, but this was ok as hotel is quiet, and temperature comfortable (in June) by opening the windows. Also about 6 English TV channels.
The views are exceptional ... especially rooms facing the snowcapped Rothorn peaks.
Although Tschugge is situated approx. 15 mins walk uphill behind the town along quaint lanes, there is guest use of the hotel's electric taxi, esp to get to/from the rail station. However, it is only a 10 min walk into town/shops/main street in the other direction, and the views of the sun setting on the Matterhorn are best viewed from the church steps 9.30pm onwards in summer. Have after-dinner drinks at the hotel in the bar, then a slow amble downhill to see one of the best sights in Switzerland !! Or walk down about 8am to see the morning sun on the Matterhorn.
Staff are friendly, and helpful, but found the meals a little bit standardized this visit. Only 10 min walk to a large variety of restaurants and cafes for great eating experiences. Would definitely stay again... a great hotel.

AlanD442016on 29/08/2016 20:29The hotel was full of character and the staff were more than friendly and helpful. Beautiful views from our balcony (room 203). Restaurant was charming and the food excellent. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope one day to return.
