What People are saying

Cousin wedding

BCD_9986on 20/08/2017 02:40

Recently went to the hotel for a cousins wedding. Have to say the grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful, it was shame as it was raining as couldn't really explore them.

The attention to detail was fantastic regarding room decor for the wedding. The bedrooms were a bit dated but we're comfortable and clean.

As working within the industry for years I found the staff leaning against the wall while eating the wedding meal very off putting and completely disrespectful as they were chatting away and getting on like they didn't want to be there. If anything the should have been out in the service entrance. Also staff were very attentive all day but definitely need training as on our table alone a bridesmaid had prosecco spilt on her dress and also my husband and myself had food spilt on our suits.

Wonderful Stay

We stayed in Tullylagan House last week and had a wonderful evening. From our greeting at the desk to the amazing location, wonderful room and an amazing dinner in the restaurant, served up to us by the Head Chef, Dean, I have nothing but praise.
This was really an evening to savour as we walked the lovely grounds and then went into the bar and we were looked after by two lovely servers.
I can not recommend this country house highly enough
Thanks to all the staff and personnel for making our stay so enjoyable

As a wedding venue

Trevor Von 03/08/2017 20:41

As a wedding venue it was OK. The grounds were beautiful but everything takes place in 1 room. As a result you get shifted from 1 room to the next, so that the one room can get flipped. The hotel itself was quite old in style. The night guys were just laid around in jeans and hoodies. They were quite helpful but a dress code would just add a touch of class for what could be a fantastic hotel

Short stay

Els26_12on 27/07/2017 21:32

Had a recent 3 day stay at this quaint hotel. The food was very good but menu limited with same options each night with only one menu change. The service was truly appalling-long waits, plates no cleared, frequently had to ask for basics which should have been present eg marmalade for breakfast etc

Great Country House Hotel and restaurant

We most definitely search for this type of accommodation while traveling. The history, the house, the rooms and, the settings. All are of great interest to us. And this house was a great example of exactly what we like. Wonderful local and industrial history associated with the original family and house.

Friendly and helpful staff. We ate at Harry's Bar on site. Very good food. We also had a late night drink in the lobby bar and you can almost transport yourself back to a more genteel age.

In a perfectly romantic way, there were lots of original details in the room and bathroom.

Very much worth finding this place.
