Fantastic few days at Hotel

We have just enjoyed a great few days at the Tvedestrand Fjordhotel. Upon reading some of the reviews one could be slightly sceptical but the stay totally exceeded all expectations, the standard room was a good size with a wonderful view, the hotel was clean and there was more than sufficient choice at breakfast. We were 2 families travelling with demanding young children and the staff were superb, very friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate on using this hotel again in a most charming picturesque town. Thank you for a great stay.

Charming hotel! But very low standard for the price.

This hotel is very charming and located in a little hidden germ of a Norwegian seaside village. The staff was friendly and service minded.
Unfortunately the standard of the rooms was way to low compared to the price. The breakfast had the very minimum of choices and everything seemed a bit "discount" and not thought trough at all.
No minibar at the room, but two samples of the bible instead.... Everything else was old and scarce. Even the double bed was more alike a twin bed with a huge crack between the two mattresses (The mattresses was very good though).
If the room had cost 400 NOK less, I wouldn't had hesitated to rate higher. But we got way to little for what we paid for.

Very very charming hotel, in very very charming town. If you get a room with a view you will wake up happy. It is located at the waterfront, with morning sun beamimg at it.

The restaurant, even out of the summer season, delivers good food. Only drawback is a short menu and basic winelist.

Service is always with a smile.

Free parking for hotel guests.

Not great needs renovations

I think it's the only hotel in that area but unfortunately needs renovations .. The rooms have either dirty carpet or scratched wooden floors , the beds are not comfortable and the furniture terribly old ..
There is always a kitchen smell in the corridors even if the restaurant apparently is on the other side of the road.. The breakfast was basic , not very interesting . But the lady at the reception was extremely nice . Very nice the location .

We very there only four days ..... What a shame we could not stay longer.
The hotel has the perfect location and the town is picture beautiful. If you have not been Tvedestand I would recommend you to visit it. It is really lovely place with lots of charm and plenty of places to see.
We were received by the friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. (We later found out that they had just taken over the hotel so we wish them the best and keep up the good work. :)
The room was nice and very clean, the bed comfortable.
There is a very nice out door terrace with good food and drinks.
We had a great stay and will come for sure but next we stay for at least a week.
