What People are saying

One of a kind onsen experience and friendly staff

Dandeliouson 10/02/2017 02:26

I picked this hotel for its beautiful seaview from the room and the unique onsen/hot spring experience, and I was not disappointed! It felt wonderful and natural to admire the sunset and the sea while enjoying the onsen in a 100-year-old plum barrel! The room was very spacious with a large tatami area and living room (and bathroom, of course). Dinner was Japanese style and was delicious. Breakfast was in buffet style with a variety of choices.
When we checked out, towing 2 large luggages, the staff helped us to pull the burden to the bus stop before I thought of asking. I really appreciate their customer-oriented attitude.
I will definitely come again if I visit Shirahama in the future!

Nice historical Onsen Hotel

Justin9127on 29/01/2017 06:34

The Hotel Seamore is located in Shirahama. The outlook of the hotel is old and rusty due to the frequent sea gusts, but the interior of the hotel is good. We lived in the mixed Japanese and Western room which is 70 square meters, including a long corridor, a living room with a large kitchen, a Japanese sitting area, two Western beds, a bar, a bathroom with a deep bathtub and shower room. The room is very spacious that it can accomodate 9-10 people at most. The onsen was special due to the plum barrels used for holding water. The meals, as mentioned in my Kuitei review, was good and tasty with fresh seafoods used. The beds were quite hard, and so as the tatamis. The service could have been improved, waiters weren't friendly, did not assist us fulfilly. The facilities were good and there was a souvenir shop at our level, making it convinient for us to shop. One night of the room is 8400 HKD, which was okay due to the good dinner, breakfast and the special onsen provided in the hotel.

Love and Hate

The hotel was massive. Wifi is only available in the lobby area but can accommodate large crowd as it so spacious.
I was given a very spacious room . I am a solo traveler but I was given a family room ( 3 extra bed ) however I can see the beddings and pillows are being used even before I was born.
The good thing with the room given to me is the view . It was overlooking the pacific ocean and it was majestic.
Another thing I love with this hotel is the 24hour Onsen ( it is a very different story – as it is my first time doing it )
The food was served in a traditional japanese style .

Onsen onlooking Pacific Ocean

Lyefeion 02/01/2017 10:11

A second onsen we visited this trip to Osaka. Hotel Seamore is 40 years old but the rooms are surprising large even by international standard. Their bathroom is generous. It is located in Shirahama by the ocean, nice town but unfortunately we did not have to time to explore it. We explored their onsen that is quite nice though crowded. Their outdoor pool can look out to the Pacific Ocean so you have a great view while immersing in hot spring. We were given rooms facing the ocean, wonderful view! They served a wonderful dinner including very nice beef on hotplate, slice fish shabu-shabu, some sashimi, and a whole fresh abalone that is cooked in a hot pot. Quality plus quantity! Their breakfast is less as the hall was crowded that make buffet eating challenging. We feel that this hotel has good potential if the owner renovate the common area. We enjoyed the stay much.

OOO (Old, Outdated, Opulance)

Keoni13on 24/05/2016 04:57

Very opulent looking hotel on th inside when you first walk in. Then you start to notice how old everything is and how faded and outdated carpets, furniture etc are. The rooms are the same way. Staff are very friendly but do not speak English at all! Breakfast is provided with room, very good buffet breakfast offering east and western styles of food. Not many people staying here at this time of year, not tourist season. Glad I came to see Shirahama but one day was plenty. Town is ill kept like the hotel, I might choose someplace else in Japan to see. The onsen and hotel hot bath were both good but not really worth the money
