Welcoming and helpful staff, peaceful and scenic place.
FZ11968on 11/07/2016 11:15Rooms small but perfectly adequate, very peaceful and scenic surroundings, but the most notable thing about this place was the warm and welcoming staff, particularly Isabelle who was wonderfully helpful and friendly and made me feel at home, as well as the Welsh waitress (so sorry, forget your name) who also made me feel very welcome.
Customer service is so important, and you guys have it right.
If I was in the area I would definitely book here again.
A strange place but nice all the same
MG693338on 05/01/2016 13:46We arrived on a baking hot day at about 4pm. Checked in to our little chalet type room and headed straight to the small pool. Pool area very clean and we did get beds to use but its not the biggest. We were only staying one night so loading and unloading the car was easy as we could park pretty close to our room. No aircon! Should have checked this when I booked via Hotels.com. However, very basic rooms but nice and clean which had the added bonus of being a short drive (you could walk) into Cambo. A beautiful little place and we ate in a super restaurant which was run by a Portugese guy and his family. Not much English spoken but we got by with lots of smiles and nods!
Must go back to see more of this beautiful region.

The site has chalets spread across the grounds with terrific views across to the mountains. The chalets themselves are comfortable although a bit of paint here and there would be overdue. At the centre there is a small friendly bar / restaurant and an adjacent small pool which is mainly indoors.
Each of the staff we spoke to are friendly and engaging. There were no other British people there so the only language spoken or printed is French. As I've mentioned in previous reviews, that's not a problem for me as I like attempting to converse in a foreign language. But I'm not very fluent so when, for example there was a quiz or a live band, or a 'welcome meeting' I didn't feel as welcome at those times. We were several days in to our holiday before I saw a notice board listing the various events and kids facilities.
Our kids enjoyed it, making friends with the French kids there and playing in the safe grounds, tennis and table tennis.
The local village is also very attractive. We ventured out to some absolutely beautiful and remote villages in the Basque region.
Another place on my 'I must return to list'.
