Great location
jersey2008on 31/08/2017 19:31Stayed here for a week at the end of August with my husband and 2 kids (5&8).
It is a fairly bland looking, functional hotel both from the outside and inside. However what it lacks in appearance it makes up with location, fab pool, and friendly staff.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the all inclusive food was. Fresh pizzas made in front of you. Daily grill, fish or meat was excellent. Fresh fruit and salads. Of course it does get a bit samey, and a week was long enough!
The hotel pool is massive and loads of sun loungers. Lots of entertainment for kids and adults alike, so be prepared for noise most of the day around the pool!
Lovely location right on the peninsular, great views! Easy to access Dubrovnik old town by bus, although discovered Uber was much quicker and far cheaper!
The kids were kept occupied with kids club which was really well ran by some great girls who were incredibly attentive, highly recommend!
The room was okay. It was spotlessly cleaned, daily. The bed was firm and pillows okay. Tiny shower room but good water pressure and modern fittings, worked perfectly.
We had a room that had an adjoining door, unfortunately this meant we could hear, and no doubt be heard by people/family next door! If you want one room, I suggest not getting a family room, but a standard double with extra beds! Much quieter.
All in all, exceptional value for money, don't forget this is a 3 star hotel.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Just make sure you buy water and provisions from the mini market outside the hotel. Drinks are really expensive outside of the all inclusive meal times!
Frustrated guest
Harriet Ron 31/08/2017 10:54Don't expect all inclusive - it isn't! You have to pay for water during any non-mealtimes (which works out at £3.70 a bottle!) and you aren't allowed to top up your own bottle for the day either!
The breakfast selection is poor at best - stale bread, raw omelette, there was bacon in the 'vegetarian' cooked veg selection and no fresh juices unless you pay extra of course!
Rooms are ok but don't expect anything special - definitely not worth the price tag. There are no local shops so you are pretty much stuck here paying things you expected would be included in the price.
Only good thing I can say is about Andre and Mario the pool/entertainment staff who were very welcoming and friendly - overall would not recommend.
GREAT HOTEL!!!!!
Louise Bon 22/08/2017 16:49Stayed here at the end of July beginning of August with my husband, 8 year old son, mum, dad and brother, for 10 days in this great hotel. Couldn't fault it, hotel was very clean, staff everywhere very friendly. Room are small but you only shower and sleep in them so wasn't a massive issue. Kids/adult entertainment was excellent in fact the best we have come across. My 8 year old had a great time day and evening, some days we didn't see him for hours as he was having too much fun. Food was great for a 3* hotel lots to choose from and yes they did repeat what they cooked. Omelettes breakfast time were lovely and freshly made to your liking. Pizzas lunch/dinner time were a hit with everyone. Pool area was FAB very large plenty of beds and umbrellas. Some people though did have a tendency to take beds or umbrellas if you left them for lunch, so we ended up going to lunch in shifts just so we didn't lose these items. You definitely need the umbrella shade as it gets proper hot! Short walk down the back path to the beach which was lovely very busy and you definitely need aqua shoes as it's very stoney. Babin Kuk where this hotel is situated is lovely and not spoilt, from the front entrance of the hotel to your right there is a small shopping centre with a few shops, bars and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit. Bus stop is a short walk from the shopping centre this takes you into Lapad and Dubrovnik old town which is an absolutely must see. Would definitely recommend Dubrovnik and this hotel to friends and family. Hopefully one day we will visit Croatia again and maybe this hotel again....
Another amazing holiday!!
Sam Con 18/08/2017 17:34We have stayed at this hotel 4 times and it has always been excellent. The food is good, the entertainment is fantastic and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The pool is lovely and the kids are well looked after, nothing is too much trouble. The only negative is the prices of drinks but the world-class shows and entertainment on an evening make up for it. We will return!!
Perfect hotel for families and large groups
fcrepon 16/08/2017 15:10We booked to stay at the Valamar Club Dubrovnik whilst we were getting married on one of the islands close by. We chose this hotel, as we had over 50 guests coming out to join us, including about 10 children. We are so pleased we did, there was so much entertainment for the children and adults alike. The animation team put on lots of different shows and activities which was great.
The pool area is lovely, overlooking the sea with great views. The only negative was the sun loungers when everyone was reserving them.
The food was excellent, lots of variety and they even had a grill outside which did different dishes every night. The pizza was a really big hit with everyone, freshly made handmade pizza every dinner was delicious.
The rooms were a little small, especially the bathroom, but there were clean, so met what we needed it for.
The staff were amazing, my mother-in-law broke her ankle 2 weeks prior to them flying out and they arranged her to have a disabled room with no problems. Ozana, who is head of reception, could not have done more for us, we will be forever grateful that she made it possible for my mother-in-law to come out and enjoy the holiday and wedding.
Overall this hotel is great for families and large groups, there is plenty of entertainment, excellent selection of food and a big pool area.
