Great Hotel
Vincent Won 29/06/2017 16:34You have to give this place a go when you're in the area. Nice big comfortable rooms with balconies. Restaurant was excellent and good value for money. The staff all speak pretty good English and I would definitely recommend at least one night here. Try the beef Carpaccio and the seafood risotto. They are delicious.
Big comfortable rooms
Mattias Eon 17/06/2017 12:59Good hotel with big, spacious and very comfortable rooms. Very fresh and bathrooms with both shower and hot tub. The bar at the hotel was good and there was also a indoor pool and gym. The gym is very small and I can not understand why you place the treadmill facing the wall instead usingo the outside view.
Excellent hotel
Feike Jon 03/06/2017 00:01Location is near the highway so easy it's to reach and parking is free. Lobby looks chique with marmer tiles. The elevator is very slow. The room looks brand new and very clean. Beds have good mattresses. The bathroom has a whirlpool and a seperate rainshower (only luxurious rooms other rooms have just a rainshower). There's a mini-bar and an espressomachine. The rooms are soundproof and have Wifi with good connection for free. On the 14th floor there's a swimmingpool and a spa wich is open from 8.00-22.00. Breakfast was well taken care of with plenty to choose from.
Value for money
yvesl219on 03/01/2017 11:45The Van der Valk in Duiven is a modern hotel, with all comfort required. Quality of the food is excellent, however, the restaurant can be noisy. Rooms are comfortable, bath room is well equipped. Small fitness room, pool and sauna are available. Access is easy, close to the highway
Meeting expectations and good value for money
Taasiton 06/11/2016 14:03In the Netherlands, Van der Valk hotels are their own class. The well sized rooms are the same in each hotel and priced mid range. Generally perceived as 'good value for money'.
This hotel is no exception. It's a new building in the shoulder of the A12 motorway towards Germany and the exit ramp Duiven. And that is exactly its con. Of all the places in this generally beautiful area of the Netherlands, this isn't exactly the most inspiring. But a good base for day trips, conferences or business hotel.
The rooms are basic and modern, the bath room however is comparatively luxury; in this price range you generally don't get separate - walk in - shower and bubble bath. Each room has a balcony which is not just an escape for smokers, but actually big enough to sit on.
Two notes of criticism. One is the elevators, which are too little and too late; at times they require patience and queuing.
The second is the breakfast room; this is a big hotel and lots of people have breakfast in the morning. At times too many of the buffet offerings are in dire need of a compliment for too long.
