Good value homestay
416kateon 29/06/2017 04:30We stayed here as a family (3 grown up kids) for 2 nights. We originally booked 2 rooms but were offered a third at a very reasonable price so accepted it for our eldest daughter. Rooms were very clean and bright with good showers. Situated on a main road, there was quite a bit of noise overnight so earplugs would have been useful. There is a lovely large outside terrace with extensive views and plenty of chairs, ideal for morning and evening relaxation.
We had a great evening meal which was excellent value for money and an ok breakfast. Otherwise we ate in Shimla itself. The homestay is well connected to the town by frequent buses but traffic is heavy and it can take half hour or so going into town - (10mins coming back). Wifi was intermittent (weather related?) and has to be paid for (R200/hour) - the only place we've stayed in India where it hasn't been free.
We had a warm welcome and everyone was very friendly. It would have been lovely to see more of our hostess but we did feel well cared for.
Given the high costs and dingy appearance of Shimla hotels, Vardaan was a great alternative. Recommended.
Little away from the crowded Shimla. A wonderful Stay !
ShrikantHathion 05/06/2017 06:18Surely a good place to stay with greenery and mountains around. Its little away from the crowded Shimla city. The rooms and the attic is clean and well maintained with a mountain and greenery view.
Ajay who took care of us, is very prompt at his service and a really nice person.
I will strongly recommend to stay here.

Nice & clean Room & Particular Food is very Good..
Need to improve option in Food choice for breakfast and dinner.
It's recommended for this Who need homely stay. Not for this Who need some luxury or hotel facility.
Wonderful stay
beas_sinhaon 20/10/2016 05:46It's 14kms away from Shimla' hustle bustles but still well connected. Small family runs this homestay. Beautiful location with nice people around. Mrs. Sood really take care of every small things to make us comfortable. Yummy breakfast and wonderful service by Shankar.
Offbeat location- Away from Crowded Shimla
GP020on 02/07/2016 09:38The location is good-no doubt about it. Its located in Shoghi which is away ( 13 kms before) main Shimla. The room we booked was a family room (kind of duplex) and was very clean ,beautiful and spacious with 3 washrooms ( 2 were outside the room on the roof).
One of the concerns I had was that being a homestay this was not a 'full-fledged' hotel and hence lacked some key facilities like food, room-service. The food option was very limited here but there was a nearby restaurant which offered economical and good food. Other concern was that during mid-day the room gets heated up and the provided table fans were not enough.
The cleanliness was exemplary and this is where I was very very satisfied ( I'm very particular on this point).
The scenes from this place were awesome and we loved those. Overall 4 out of 5 to this place.
