What People are saying

Massive Hotel Complex

darbz89on 13/08/2017 07:21

Having stayed at a Chimelong Hotel in Zhuhai, I had very high expectations for this one here. Unfortunately, due to the sheer size of the place, I was actually quite disappointed.

Obviously, they have to cater for a lot of people, and because it is located very near to the other Chimelong Guangzhou attractions, this makes perfect sense. But, the layout of the hotel is very inconvenient, as you must walk for what feels like an eternity from the nearest guest rooms to anywhere else.

But, if you're going to go to the attractions for a couple of days (and have a reasonable amount of cash), the convenience cannot be understated...

Luxury in the wild

The most luxurious suite that we have ever enjoyed. Fresh fruit, gorgeous fresh flowers, sweets to greet us. Expansive suite, comprising generous TV. lounge, plus huge bed, super soft pillows, in complete smoke free environment. Full bathroom, and a balcony with great views. Located within the park, with easy access to the circus (better than Cirque du soliel), a top class water park (noisy at night), and the animal park. Level of English spoken is reasonable.
The outdoor pool only opens at 3 p.m. each day, just a bit strange.

Spacious room with animals view

I as an adult enjoying myself there. The kids for sure more. Nice experience. Very good for outdoor activities. They have riding park too. Love all the rides. Sure we will come back. Room is spacious but not best cleaned.

OTT Chinese hotel!

BrianC6969on 03/05/2017 17:23

This is unreal! It is very expensive, but typical Chinese OTT hotel. Everything you could want - rooms, bars, restaurants, shops, safari park!

If you have the money to spend its worth visiting.

Only think i don't like is the white tiger and the Flamigos kept int he small cages in the centre of the hotel. They are wild animals and should have space.

Good, but not as good as others of same brand

Spent Easter weekend in this place. As everyone says, this place is enormous! We had a suite in building 8. Very nice, spacious rooms, huge bathroom with 2 showers, one outside on balcony, not totally private (but that would be exciting to some). Bedroom well appointed, no complaints at all, complete with another large balcony for the smoker.

The grounds are well looked after, with white tigers, swans, flamingos, herons, etc., all living between the rooms. At night it sounds like you're really in the deepest jungle (some of the noisiest frogs we've ever heard, so loud you couldn't hear the natives!

The rest of the hotel, lobby's (there are 2) are all beautifully constructed. At the entrance of Lobby 1 there is a magnificent door (ancient Chinese style) and the reception resides under an impressive structure crowned by lions.

Generally found the staff attentive and warm, but the problem comes as with all large Chinese hotels, and that's the Chinese themselves. During breakfast with 2500 noisy farmers to feed the staff become overwhelmed. I was lucky, being one of the very few foreigners, they took pity on me, but it was still a struggle.

Being an isolated resort, they have a captive audience for dinner. Of the many restaurants we tried the Petrus Grille and Unicorn Restaurants. Food was good, reasonably priced.

The hotel is inside an enormous amusement complex, with a free shuttle bus between the hotel, safari and amusement parks and circus. Can recommend them all. The amusement park for our 4 year old was perfect, many rides for the smaller children.

Overall, would recommend a visit, though we'll not return (though we rarely do anyway).
