Extremely friendly host!

We stayed at Afroditi one week in july. Fantastic wine, honey, fruits, juice and water waited for us in the apartment. Good cleaning. The host, Yannis, never stopped suprise us, and he goes to great lengths for his guests. The location was perfect for us. We loved walking in the old town in the evenings, and the beach isn't a long walking. Thank you, Yannis, for your hospitality, recommendations, and big smile. Kasper still talking about you. Very convenient place to spent holiday in the North-West part of Crete

It is an exceptional apartments hotel located in a very heart place of Rethymnon, just opposite the old Venetian harbor and very close to the sandy beach. The hospitality of the owner, Mr. Yannis, was unbelievable friendly and helpful from the first to the last day. Champagne, fruits, olive oil and honey meet us just we arrived the room and looked on the table or opened the refrigerator. The very quite room was every day carefully cleaned, including change of towels and linens.The hotel located in very renovated historical 2-floor house which surprisingly has very fancy elevator and a nice music accompanied the guest going up or down. Restaurants, shops, museums, churches, supermarkets are very nearby. All is convenient and comfortable. Could not be better.

My husband and I have stayed in Rethymnon twice, and each time at Afroditi. At first we stayed because of a friend recommendation, then we stayed because we were so happy with the first stay. Yannis is a great owner who puts his heart into his hotel. He treats customers like long time friends and family. He gave us a deal both times, and made sure we had everything we needed, I mean from cab rides to beach towels. Never a disappointment or a dull moment!

I have Given this Hotel an excellent rating in a previous review. If there could be a rating above excellent I would use it for this Hotel. My stay at the Afroditi with my wife could not have been surpassed. Yanni the owner provided fresh fruit and bottles of wine for our stay, and even took us out to dinner with another couple staying at the Hotel, The room that we stayed in was very roomy, and also had every facility for our comfort. When I return to Rethymnon this is the only place that I would stay, and as for value it cannot be beaten.

If you are thinking about it, do it.
Ok, the downsides, the shower is over the bath, never great, and they didn't have black tea.
Otherwise this is somewhere I would come back to in a heartbeat. If you have a heart, give it a go. If it's above your budget extend yourself. If below, save some money.
The room is spacious.
The hotel is nicely decorated, simple, classy.
The facilities great, tv, kitchen with lots of appliances etc. Endless supply of bottled water.
Great location in the old town.
And most of all, Yannis. So generous. I only stayed one night. Wish it was more. But he was so helpful and kind, generous.
