Great place to ride, stay, and eat
Scott Eon 22/10/2016 17:58This was the second time we stayed at Villa di Sotto as part of a Bici Italia bike tour. This is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. The view is spectacular, and so is the food at the restaurant. Counting the days until we can go back.
A romantic dream
Joannes1968on 05/09/2016 22:28Breath the pure atmosphere of Tuscany in this tiny village. On the top of an hill you will enjoy the panoramic view on the surroundings of the Chianti area with the fields of the wine yards and olive trees. and the skyline of Siena city at the horizon.
The bed & breakfast facilities are well aranged, including free wifi.
We found the restaurant outstanding, good service and pricing, high quality of food and a good wine list.
Swimming pool is good as well, with sufficient beds for the guests.
Could pay more to find a better
Mareofessexon 28/08/2016 17:21We booked this villa as we wanted to stay right in the heart of the Tuscan hills, and we certainly got that. You definitely need a sat nav and a car to get here. On arrival, check in was quick and easy and we were shown to our room. The room was basic, but clean. There was a restaurant on site, again something we had looked for when booking, knowing we would be in the middle of nowhere. This was fine, and we were able to book a table at the restaurant every night. Food was reasonably priced, as was the wines, all local and of good quality. However, after 3 nights of the same menu, we decided to drive out to find other places, just really for a slight variety for dinner. The restaurant is situated right by the olive groves, so that you can sit with an aperitif and watch the sun set. The villa also has two swimming pools which were nice to sit and relax around. We found the staff could've been friendlier. Also, breakfast was very limited if you don't have a sweet tooth. There was some cheese and ham and bread, but that was it with regards the savoury side of things. Some fruit would've been nice. I'm also surprised we weren't ill as not all the food was covered at breakfast and with the hot weather brings the flies. We stayed for 5 nights and our room was only cleaned once. If I were you, I'd pay a little more to stay somewhere else.
vacation in Tuscany
Jeff Con 16/08/2016 02:22My wife and I were part of a group of about 10 people that spent 7 to 10 nights at Villa di Sotto. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment that shared a kitchen and dining area with another 1-BR apartment. We also had a patio with retractable awning, overlooking the Tuscan countryside (Siena in the distance). It is not a fancy place, but more than adequate - clean rooms, good beds (but pillows on the thin side), good air-conditioning. It was lovely to sit on the patio in the morning or evening and enjoy the fresh air and lovely views. Our rooms included breakfast at the restaurant, basic but adequate. We ate several other meals at the restaurant, and it was quite good. Staff was very friendly and helpful, although not all spoke much English. The one significant issue was that the Wi-Fi was not very good - could not connect at all on several days. The only place I found that reliable Wi-Fi service was by the pool (not unpleasant, but inconvenient).
Cooking Class near Siena
kpepeon 08/07/2016 13:07If you are looking for a family friendly cooking class in Tuscany look no further than here! My family (kids 16,13,11) just took part in a private cooking class. It was inexpensive and a delight! Not only did we gat to make our own pasta and ravioli but we also got to sample and a lesson on Tuscan cheeses and honey! What a delight!
