Good place for pet owners
calpoppyon 12/06/2017 19:10Traveling with our dog we knew the Village Green had 'pet friendly' rooms. We understand that the hotel has renovated some of their facility, however, the rooms designated for pet owners must be last on the list. It was clean and comfortable but looked like it was straight out of 1960. The best part was the fenced in patio right off the back door to the room. Pleasant to sit and look out at the lovely gardens with out little pug at our side.
The grounds are delightful and we enjoyed strolling through the acres of well kept greenery and flowers in the late afternoon. The lounge and restaurant are a bit weary looking and we were disappointed that our dog wasn't allowed to accompany us for a drink or snack in the lounge or the patio attached to it. We ended up ordering food and bringing it back to eat on our own patio which worked out well. Having lived in Europe for many years where dogs are welcomed and a common sight in restaurants and hotel lobbies we wonder when America will catch up with that practice,
The morning Continental breakfast was very disappointing, especially compared to the breakfast buffets of other Moonstone properties. The pool and spa area were nice.
Having stayed at several Moonstone properties now we can say this would be the least likely one we would stay at again.

The Gardens
Laura Eon 04/06/2017 17:45Older hotel that is still worth a visit. Town was fun to explore, two beautiful lakes very close with the added please of looking at covered bridges. For the locations gardens were very impressive, we will go next year but at an earlier date so we can more of the items in bloom. Pool setting is old school which is fun. Food was excellent with a separate bar.
Disappointment
tamaragU9949NQon 03/06/2017 19:19After staying at Oregon Gardens we were very disappointed by our stay at Village Green.The view from our room was of what appeared to be a storage area. The race track was so close we heard the race cars till at least 11:30 pm. I'm sure when it was built it was nice. Now it is not a relaxing stay, it is simply a motel next to the freeway.
Great place to stay
amymA8294WRon 02/06/2017 18:36Nice place to stay. Dinner package is a good value. Cottage Grove and the surrounding area have many recreation options. The gardens are very pretty and well kept. The beds are a bit firm for my taste. Staff was friendly and helpful.
