Poorly ran hotel!! Resort (if you call it that) staff is horrible!

We booked this trip 3 weeks ago through hotels.com and when we arrived after driving for 5 hours the rude guest relations clerk could not find out reservation and was very quick to tell me the confirmation number I had was not theirs. I showed them my booked paid in full confirmation and they still could not find me. Until they called someone to tell oh it has been canceled bc a water pipe busted in that villa and you should have been called we have no room for you. I stood there like you have to be kidding me! My family and I drove 5 hours with whiny kids in the car and we never received a phone call from them. They kept blaming hotels.com but when I called them they stated they never got the message and that the hotel would need to refund our money. We had no where to go and waterside did not care what so ever that they made a huge mistake!! There was another angry guest in the lobby with the same thing and they were talking so rude to him also. They did not apologies and when I got upset that they needed to find something they called for a 20 something year manager whom the guest service rep asked to speak to him on the side bc she didn't want me to hear what she had to say. He came back and said sorry I just need to call hotels.com we have nothing for you. I work in the hotel industry for a large hotel chain in the corporate office and I've never been so disrespected and treated like a piece of junk by these non caring people! Beware if you book you may drive there and your reservation be canceled and you would never know. But they will try and take your money!! Not to mention the place looks run down and we are actually happy with hotels.com changing our stay to somewhere much nicer the Marriott! I should have known to go with a larger chain hotel not some one off hotel that could not work with us at all!

This condo style resort is well kept and very convenient to area attractions.
The pools were small but always seemed to be chairs or tables available to sit at.
The beach is about a 15 minute walk from the resort and there is very little auto parking in the beach area.
Parking at the resort is a mixture of garage parking and some outside spaces. Parking was tight for our pickup.

Have been staying here at Waterside for the last 6 years and every year, it doesn't disappoint. We stay in the Two Bedroom Suites, with 2 baths, full kitchen, living / dining room area and very well appointed. Kitchen has everything you need to have a wonderful trip and allow you to cook should you want to. I don't go on vacation to cook! Large refrig, and plenty of kitchen space. Master bedroom has king bed and 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds. Amenities include 3 pools and they also have a Kids Club. Very convenient location on Hilton Head and within walking distance to many places....Can't go wrong staying here!

We have stayed many different places on the island with our time share and this has been one of our favorites, especially as a family. We have 3 small children and the grounds here were perfect for us. They loved the pools with fountains. We got a 3 bedroom condo which was roomy and adequate as far as decor and cleanliness. Well furnished- furniture was actually comfortable! King beds in 2 rooms and twins in the third room. It's convenient to ride bikes or walk to the beach and there's plenty of restaurants within walking, easy biking, and a short drive distance. It's nice that there's a parking garage underneath so our car was blazing hot every time we went to put our kids in it to go somewhere. Our main complaint was the middle bedroom with twin beds where our 5 & 3 yr olds slept faces the hallway- or rather the window is at the hallway and the bright hallway lights which are on 24/7 shine directly into that room. Our kids woke up pretty much every night (which isn't like them) bc they were disoriented about what time it was. Would def have appreciated blackout curtains or shades in that room. Otherwise we love the resort and would stay here again!

Location means a lot. The villas/units are very nicely decorated, very nice furniture, great beds, 2 pools, hot tub, gas grills, attractive grounds, the attentive and accommodating staff. In addition, you are an easy 10 minute walk to 2 grocery stores, some of the best restaurants on the island, gift shops galore, AND another few minutes to the beach. You could spend the whole vacation and never need your car. There is a Methodist and Catholic church within walking distance.
