Nasty experience
Aupaelfaryon 21/08/2017 12:01It was beutiful from outside and rooms were not bad (except for the fact that the A/C goes straigth to your face while sleeping and is unconfortable).
We paid for WIFI but we had to give the mobiles to get the password written (this way we cannot know the password and we cannot share it ). I can understand it but I found it quite dodgy, CRAPPY
They said we had lunch there and WE HAD NOT!! We refused to pay the bill and they started argueing with our tourist guide.
NEVER AGAIN!!
Poor, only because of the ancient AC
ThoiZon 09/08/2017 12:06Don't get me wrong, this palace is beautiful. It's a huge heritage hotel with lots of hunting trophies and a big indoor swimming pool.
We had room nr. 120, in the alley next to the pool. The room itself is fine, I have to mention the huge and fully equipped bathroom, which was absolutely awesome. However, the AC in this room is just as old as the hunting trophies. We only found out about it late at night. The thing sounds like there is a car with the engine on in your room. And because of the high ceilings this ancient AC couldn't get the room any cooler than the 33°C it was. We both slept horrible and woke up soaking wet.
If we had known that this room had this AC we would've definitely changed.
Breakfast was the worst we've had on our trip. Very limited choice compared to other heritage hotels we've stayed in.
Last but not least, if you pay a good amount for staying in the palace. At least make the Wi-Fi usage complimentary. Charging 50 rupees per device for a Wi-Fi signal that you can only use in the lobby is not the hospitality you would expect from such place.
All in all, can be a very pleasant stay if you get the right room. Spacious rooms with formidable bathrooms. Our verdict is harsh because we compared this place to 4 other heritage hotels in the same price range which we stayed at during our 18 day trip. And all 4 offered more (quality wise) than the Lallgarh Palace.
A dream of a hotel
Ute Son 05/08/2017 12:46A huge old, well-kept palace on a beautiful lake. In the adjoining buildings are the rooms and all are colonialist furnished. The rooms are clean and welcomingThe staff are attentive and profecionell. The dining room is stately and that is excellent.
Unfortunately like almost everywhere very expensive alcoholic drinks.
A place to rest and enjoy.
Place looks nice, but....
rickjeon 25/07/2017 04:35From the outside this place really looks very good. Staff is adequate but manager at reception wasn't very friendly and helpful. We had a twin room near the entrance. Room was very spacious with even an flatscreen tv. Hurray for that :). As many Indian properties it needs more attention to stay good. Breakfast buffet was basic, but had pancakes! The restaurant didn't had any ambiance, just a room with a buffet.
