Horrible service.

The Hotel is nice and clean, the wifi works good and the rooms are nice (except the floor was not clean at all). But the huge downgrade is the staff. They are friendly, but you have to ask at least twice for everything. Just a few examples:
- we asked three times for an ashtray
- we asked three times for some towels
- there was an event at the hotel so we were asked what we want for breakfast and on what time, because the restaurant was closed and breakfast was on the balcony. No problem so far. We told them at 9.00 am. We got our breakfast at 11.30 am, after reminding them at least 4 times. There was no table in the room or at the balcony, we had no idea where to put all the plates. Finally they brought a table to the balcony. Btw, coffee was missed and breakfast not what we ordered.
-we asked them for a transport to Sigiriya, they said they gonna check it and let us know. An hour later we asked them again, they said they gonna let us know in the next 30 minutes. They didn't. It was about 11.00 pm so we went to sleep, tired of asking them everytime again. Finally in the morning they called us at 6.00 am to let us know.
They did not cleaned the room once (we stayed 4 nights), the last day they offered us some drinking water for the room.
Normal waiting time for meals was at least one hour, and it was not even really good. The coke we ordered was once a 750ml bottle, next time 400ml (same price).

I just expect something else for that price, it's not a cheap hotel at all.

Excellent place to stay

In June 2017, I stayed this hotel with family. We got “bunk bed” HB for very reasonable price. The Concept of the room arrangement was excellent and my kids enjoyed lot with the facility. They have very friendly and helpful staff. I must remember Mr. Bhathiya Seneviratne (Front Office Manager) who assist us lot from the booking. Food was amazing and they will provide very delicious Sri Lankan food as you prefer. I am not hesitate to recommend this hotel for anyone and willing to visit again soon.

Not even worth at 50% discount

We went there during a 50% promotion, to visit Anuradhapura sacred city. I am glad we didnt go there for a vacation or to celebrate an anniversary or something similar, coz these people dont even know the basics of customer satisfaction!
I have been to hotels around the world, and mind you this is the lowest trained staff ever. They promised a free foot massage on our arrival and after waiting and waiting front desk lady tells us the person is on leave, why did they offer us in the first place? were they trying to joke? Food was crap. so little variety like you would fix up a daily meal at home. you wouldnt come to a hotel for that meal and pay 10000+ for a night. they told us we will be having pool side dinner, but in reality we had our meals in an all closed up hall. there were two staff members standing right next to the buffet, but i had to point out that string hoppers are over and it needs refilling. What were they doing? daydreaming? No tea creamers in our room, called 3 times, got after an hour, tea was cold by that time. The only thing staff knows is to say good morning and good afternoons, too much of it infact. It would be helpful if you can train them to do their work, not just greet. "Hot water" in the bathroom was not hot. If you need to retain business, you have to improve your quality standards. Even at 50% discount, its a waste of money.

False promises! Good for people who has never stayed in a proper standardized hotel

First of all we booked a half moon room and virginia standard room next to each other, and i was confirmed this several times. Only on our arrival that we got something else, two rooms in two different floors. Just as we entered, we were told that we will be offered a free foot massage, and we put our appointment and was eagerly looking forward for it. When our appointment time was due, we informed the reception and we were asked to wait till the massage is prepared. We waited in the lobby for 15 minutes. Since there was no news i went to the reception to check, then only the front desk lady remembered and she suddenly tells that the person who is doing the massage is on leave. what a waste of time, and false promises! Food was too basic, dried string-hoppers.No tea creamers or milk powder in our room, had to call several times to finally get it. No shampoo in our wash room. Not a single dustbin in our parents room. the cupboard in our room cannot be closed, its wide open. The only good things about this hotel is that its close to the sacred town, rooms were fancy and staff was polite, but staff seemed very untrained.

Memorable, but not only for good reasons

This hotel has themed rooms, which is (certainly in Sri Lanka) highly original. We stayed in a room called "1st Love", which was a somewhat postmodern experience (lots of kitschiness!)
Our bed was very comfortable and the television offers HBO, so you won't get bored when you stay here. Also, the bathroom facilities and the pool area are really worthwhile.

However, we experienced a horrible second night, not only because of the noise of the wind that seemed to tear the walls apart, but mainly because of mice in the room. They walked on the ceiling, threw empty bottles out of our dustbin... Definitely not memorable in a good way!
