Outstanding B and B!
JandJ_2011on 07/10/2014 20:02My husband and I stayed here for one night and were tremendously impressed. We've stayed in B&B's in Europe and this was our first in the US. Now the bar has been set VERY HIGH. Anne is so welcoming and accomodating. Our room was beautiful and with all of the amenities of an upscale hotel--even beautiful white robes. The breakfast she prepared for us was out of this world. She gave us lots of information about the area and made us feel like we were family. It was so comfortable and nice. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Unique, artful, cozy
LimboPunxsyon 19/09/2014 01:36We stayed at Winding Way earlier this week, after two weeks winding through New England. Anne was charming. Staying at a two bedroom art gallery was just like being at a friend's home. Every item you might think of was already there. The over a century old home was extensively remodeled in 2012 regarding the bathrooms, etc, leaving all the elements that made it special and homey. Our bath in the Sarah Thurlow room was amazing. My husband would love a shower that large with a skylight! It does have a steep staircase, as do most New England homes, but was not a bother to us. Anne leaves Maine ice cream in the freezer for her guests. That is hard to beat, and it is so artfully decorated. We walked to Main Street (1 block) and the harbor for dinner (3 blocks). Just wished we could have stayed longer. Great town, great b&b. Highly recommended. Lyn and Jim
Very cozy....
dmb757on 08/09/2014 17:57We stayed here for one night and it was an interesting stay. Our host was wonderful and the location was perfect-great restaurants and the Farnsworth was right around the corner. We had the smaller of the two rooms. Having bad knees and a bulky suitcase , it presented a challenge since the rooms were located on the 2nd floor. "Be careful, the stairs are very treacherous." The low ceiling in the corner of this room was mark with " watch your head " signs on them. I did a lot of bobbin' and weavin' in the room. Overall, this is a very nice place.
Coziness and hospitality at their best!
chelmac92on 02/09/2014 20:13We stayed three nights at the end of July and early August. Anne is as delightful as her bed and breakfast. The tiny rubber ducks in the shower and the bedside chocolates are examples of Anne's small touches that make all the difference!! We stayed in the Sarah Thurlow room and it was lovely. Comfort and cleanliness are just two attributes guests can expect. Just two blocks from the harbor with many wonderful shops, restaurants and galleries all in walking distance. We will absolutely return in the future!
Sweet BB
WorldTravelers1218on 30/08/2014 22:29What a sweet home. We stayed in the Sarah Thurlow room which is lovely. Done in pale yellow & nautical blue & white, makes for a relaxing night. Lots of sunlight plus a wonderful skylight in the large shower for morning wake-up time. Downstairs kitchen has two small tables set with breakfast dishes ready & waiting. The owners don't live here but guests can retrieve the goodies whenever they want. Or guests can eat outside on a small patio. There is a lovely gallery attached. Plus the wonderful Farnsworth Museum & Wyeth Center is across the street. Parking is limited to one car but guests can park at the Wyeth Center parking lot.
