Terri Con 27/06/2017 19:18I stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham last Friday night (June 23, 2017) and the front desk lady that checked me in was so nice and so friendly that it made the stay wonderful. The hotel is nice and I had a great stay.

alex5891on 25/06/2017 14:22We stayed at the windgate in Charleston and check in was super easy. Both the ladies checking us in, Tonica and I don't remember the other ones name, we're super friendly and nice. They gave us suggestions on where to eat downtown which was about a 5-10 minute drive away. The lobby is quite pretty and very updated looking. The hotel has beverages, pop and tea, in the lobby available 24/7 which was nice even though we didn't end up using it. The hotel room is a decent size but just wasn't super clean. There were a lot of small cleaning things in that room that would go a long way. There is a leather type chair and ottoman in the corner. We happened to move the ottoman and there was food stuck between it and the chair. We moved a chair in the other corner there was a iron behind it..... and it didn't look like it belonged there. It also looked like it hadn't been vacuumed behind it or under it in a longggg time. The room itself seemed to be updated recently but the bathroom is another story. The bathroom is very outdated. The shower insert was no longer white and was all yellow. Once again, attention to detail with cleaning would go a long way. The shower curtain was white with LARGE reddish-brown stains on it. . . Gross. The ice bucket has brown stains on the outside of it ( looks like they would come right off if it was actually wiped down). Ice bucket also had quite a bit of water in it. ... gross. The bathroom didn't really seem like it had been swept, mopped or counters wiped down. Overall, seems like housekeeping does the bare minimum such as changing the sheets, towels and emptying the trash.
The free breakfast was nothing special unless you enjoy cold food. The sausage was cold, the French toast sticks were cold. They also had what looked like grits, scrambled eggs and a waffle machine. Plus your typical dry goods: cereal, bagels, toast, english muffins, ect. The hot tub was the strangest thing I ever saw. It was back by the side exit, just a tiny room with a chair, towel rack and triangle shaped tub. It looked old and out of date. I think if this place could get its housekeepings act together it could have some potential but now it's just average at best.
