What People are saying
4th of July 2017 at Wisp
buster761on 04/07/2017 04:39We have never been to Deep Creek, and LOVE IT!
We chose to stay at Wisp since it was our first time to the area and thought it would give us a good lay of the land and creature comforts because we were traveling light...boy were we wrong!!
Rooms, elevators and lobby were absolutely disgusting and stank to high heaven! The ceiling in hallways are drop ceilings that can't be more that 6' tall...so weird!
Went to have dinner at resort restaurant at 6pm on Sunday...it was closed!
I will say that mountain coaster and mountain bike clinic was an absolute BLAST!!
We would never stay at Wisp again, but will be back to Deep Creek for years to come.
Dated
baldeagle8502on 26/06/2017 22:18Small town place. Dated amenities. Restaurant and bar long in the tooth. Executive golf course with same problem. Easy access to Deep Creek Lake in summer. Snow skiing in winter good. Good food in area close by.
Nice
lostfloridian108on 25/06/2017 16:26I was here mid week for three days. I found the area to be rather nice, quiet and clean. The lobby area was large and the gentleman at the front desk was pleasant and helpful.
I was in a queen suite. The room was long and narrow and had a strange layout. Nothing crazy but odd. The room was comfortable and clean and the AC rocked. It had a small refrigerator but no microwave.
I didn't get a chance to see much else due to time issues but I certainly would stay here again. It's worth a visit.
New Ownership Has Destroyed Wisp
TheB20850on 27/02/2017 21:54I have been a season pass holder at Wisp for close to ten years. Two years back, new ownership took over. Their focus is on improving the hotel and cosmetics. That's nice, but it also means that mountain maintenance is almost zero. They have maintained dangerous conditions and will be closing in February when Whitetail and others remain open (with lower altitude and less natural snow at Whitetail). This is due to the negligence of the management in not properly storing enough manmade snow and otherwise taking care of the mountain.
Please avoid at all costs. Dangerous conditions on the mountain persist and snow blowing remains a secondary concern.
Took the boys snow boarding
738billqon 13/02/2017 22:22Have to say - do some research on prices. Booked to hotel - Yep. Really did not think about the cost for a ski package for three plus a ticket for me. Yes - I am the one that did not look before I leaped. So what was going to be a weekend of skiing came up to be just one. Saturday skiing is a killer.
