A Zero, But I Didn't Have The Option
Wiz81on 17/06/2017 19:5130 minute check in. Two rooms uncleaned. No one to answer questions. Given wrong pool times which got our kids cursed at. In one room the air did not work and in another the plumbing didn't. I and another gentleman who is a professional pilot travel a lot and it was the worst experience either of us had ever had!!
great room...great price
maria gon 18/03/2017 05:34We had a great room! The sheets were so nice and very clean...bathroom was also very clean and nice...and the hotel even let us bring our two small dogs. I could tell the hotel needed some remodeling but the hotel has a lot of potential and our room was fine for the price..and they were extremely kind and accesible especially since we arrived at 2 am.
Don't believe everything you read!
Ed Don 07/03/2017 04:03It really is worse than what you read in a lot of these reviews! The hotel has 12 floors, but only TWO of them can be occupied! The restaurant in the hotel has been shut down for years. And as for breakfast... calling it a joke would be glamorizing it! I've seen the issues with no hot water, and I've seen the problems with people carrying on all night in the halls. Then there's the broken glass, obviously from a car window that had been vandalized or burglarized, near the back door. Then there are the shipping containers, which probably is where they are storing the stuff for the "renovation". Really? Renovation? I've not seen any work being done here for over a year! But the best part was coming to my room tonight and finding bars of soap from the Best Western chain! Seriously? They had to steal soap from Best Western?!
So why do I stay here? It's a corporate account. I don't have much choice.
4 Days in Amarillo
Roy Bon 12/02/2017 21:16There were only a few cars in front of the Wyndham when I drove up. Two nights before, we had stayed at the Austin Wyndham, which had a large clientele, complete with a rather full parking area.
The Amarillo hotel is undergoing a renovation, and that may have had something to do with their having a small number of customers. TripAdvisor had showed me a price with which I felt comfortable, and the agent quickly agreed to it when I showed him the image on my iPhone. My room was nice, having already been renovated, but several things made it evident there had been a lack of quality control during the process. However, none of those things hampered my comfort with the room.
The one thing that really bothered me was the fact that my room, on one end of the wing, could not receive internet service. On a positive note, housekeeping was top notch. They did an excellent job each day.
The first day, I could not get the TV to pick up anything. I talked with the lady at the front desk and pretty soon she came by to have a look at it. She quickly realized a "box" had not been installed on my set, which was necessary since they had upgraded/changed TV antenna systems as part of the renovation project. This ties back to my previous statement regarding quality control.
To get this back on a positive note, the employees are a conscientious group. They all appear to have their customers well being in mind.
Management, however, I must question whether they are "hands on" managers or not.
I must also note that this hotel is a franchise establishment.
Not having items as advertised
D2714QZbarbarakon 29/01/2017 20:53Stayed here January 20, 2017. Beautiful hotel BUT advertised a hot breakfast buffet which was one reason for booking here. NO hot breakfast just frozen Jimmy Dean sandwichs, yogart, stale sweet rolls! Why no breakfast, no sign out at buffet area, nothing said at time of check-in AND I had another day of driving and started out my day hungry and frustated. Next time, let your guests know if you are not serving breakfast.
Staff was courtious.
