Nice hotel in the heart of old town
Tui Con 12/04/2017 22:22We stay at this hotel for 1 night and quite happy with everything. The price is very reasonable.
Staff was helpful and friendly.
If you look from outside you may not able to imagine how nice it will be inside. The facility is good with the private parking space. From the hotel we can walk around to the plaza and most of the old town easily.
Breakfast was also nice with setting and food.
Great location; attractive renovation
delzvilleon 12/06/2016 22:11In the old city center and a ten to fifteen minute walk from the bahnhof, the location of this hotel could not be much better. The current owner/management has done an admirable job of renovating the old schloss into quite comfortable, though somewhat small rooms. Our room was quite attractive although one floor above the elevator, so we had to get our bags up just one flight of stairs. The staff was there to help with that, however, and, in general, the service was just fine. Our only complaint was the fact than no one answered the phone for quite some time when we were trying to find the hotel upon our arrival. Once they answered, however, they were very helpful in finding a convenient place for us to park and getting us settled in after a long drive. The hotel has a full-service restaurant and bar, and there are other good restaurants nearby. There are a limited number of parking spaces in the hotel courtyard and in a free public parking area about two blocks away. Otherwise, there is pay parking on the street and nearby lots. Would consider staying there again.
Excellent location in city center
Guadzillaon 02/04/2016 16:10I had very high expectations for this hotel. While most parts of the hotel were great like reception area, decoration, rooms- the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast left me with a bad taste. At breakfast, the hotel was out of hot food when we went in at 9:45 (it was a holiday and was supposed to be serving until 11). We were there 30 minutes and never saw the hot food replaced. We tried going to dinner at the hotel restaurant, but after sitting for 10 minutes and having staff walk past us 6 or 7 times with not even a little smile or making eye contact we decided to get up and leave. We had reservations for dinner, so it wasn't that we were overloading them with an unexpected table. At both meal services, I had the impression that they were woefully understaffed and the less than ideal service was a result.
If you have a room on the street side, be aware that you will be hearing people walking home from the local bars until pretty late. That can be problematic in the warm weather when the windows must be kept open.
It is a beautiful building, and very interesting especially on the ground level. They have a spa area which we did not look at, as we were walking around town the entire time because it really is a beautiful town with amazing architecture everywhere you look. We will go back to the town, but I think we may try another gasthaus in town for our next visit.
Parking in the hotel lot was a charge of 7,50 Euro, and if you want internet speeds higher than dial up be prepared to pay for their premium wifi.
Fantastic central location within walking distance to the Christmas Markets.
Jacqueline Won 27/01/2016 09:01We visited Germany and were fortunate enough to visit the UNESCO Quedlinberg Christmas Markets. We visited several during our Gluhwein Tour and Quedlinberg remains traditional and cosy. The town centre is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Parking is free in the streets nearby however, if visiting during this peak time it is worthwhile to arrive early as the markets are extremely popular amongst locals and tourists alike due to artisans selling hand-made items in many alley ways to explore. Friendly staff (we are non-German speaking) and all three of us were happy with our dinner and breakfast.
Decent hotel
Tinde_Kon 02/12/2015 18:21Wonderful surroundings and premises, great location in city centre, free parking and nice staff. The rooms are comfortable, if with a bit of an austere decorations - I would have tried to milk the castle aspect more. That being said, the dining room/restaurant looks lovely and the breakfast was delicious with a great selection. My only complaint was that the staff spoke very little English. I speak some German, but other foreign tourists might have a problem.
