Good room size. Nice area.
Mark Don 13/04/2017 09:47This hotel has very big and nice rooms. Comfortable bathroom. Very clean, nice personal. Breakfast lucks of European food, or its very unusual, for example hot orange juice. Only 2 elevators for such a large building, and sometimes you have to wait for some time. I wouldn't stay there 2nd time.
Bathroom Window
Ace6of6Clubson 05/08/2016 11:55Great hotel. The only odd thing was that there was a partially frosted window into the bathroom (as opposed to the fully frosted window in our other Chinese hotels). My friend cunningly built a wall out of menus so that she couldn't see the toilet when she rolled over in bed. A friend staying in a room with his grandmother had it worse off than we did, though.
Good location - large room, poor breakfast
Kid_U_Not58on 06/11/2015 01:45China - if you're going to welcome overseas tourists, please employ at least one English-speaking person at your reception desk! It is truly frustrating to play "charades" when you are tired, and just want to find your room!
The hotel is very clean, modern, and the rooms were large with plenty of space, and good amenities. The elevators (2 of them) are very, very slow, and stop at all floors on the way to reception, so expect to be in them for a long time! On a better note, once you reach reception, there are toilets to the right, and an outside fenced off laneway where you can have a cigarette, if you're a smoker. It is also easy to walk one flight of stairs to reach the breakfast room (avoid the elevator lol).
Breakfast was a bit of a disaster, with mainly Chinese food on offer. Coffee (one per person) and tea was in the room - I always take 3-in-1 coffee sachets when I travel, and they are cheap in the small grocery shop over the road to the left of the hotel.
Walk straight ahead of the hotel (down the street near the French - yes French - patisserie) for two blocks, and turn left, and you will find a huge shopping centre with a Starbucks! Yay! Alternatively, turn right, then left, and do a block walk at night - interesting, colourful and a lot of fun.
Bed was hard (you get to expect this in China), but we always sleep well after a day's touring all the attractions.
Not a bad place to stay, but could improve.
Nice convenient hotel smack center of the business district
steve9631on 05/11/2015 22:58I liked it. It's a bit different from any business hotel I've stayed at, but it's not bad in any event. We stayed here as part of a Gate 1 tour, and on the business suites floor. It was clean, quiet, and had a large shower, no tub.
The room was spacious, with a flat screen (a couple of channels in English), free wi-fi that was fair to good, a comfortable bed (a western style bed/ not like sleeping on a stack of plywood), and lighting choices for every nook and cranny in the room. I've never seen anything like it. You could light any part of the room you wished. It also came with a desktop computer and a work station, (we were on the 17th flr, which designates as a business suite floor, so possibly computers aren't available in all the accommodations). The weird thing was there was no safe in room, and the only secure spot for your valuables was to leave them with the front desk for secure containment. While not desirable, it was free of charge to guests. Coffee and tea was provided in room daily, along with two bottles of water, and robes.
As far as location it appeared to be in the center of the modern business district of Chengdu. Restaurants, shopping, ATM's, and Starbucks were present in almost any direction you should happen to choose.
The morning breakfast offering was an asian/western buffet, (predominately asian), and most everything I tried was good. Fresh fruits and juices were always on hand, and an espresso machine was available with breakfast.
The lobby had a higher end espresso bar and a gift shop full of stuffed pandas. While I always like an espresso in the morning, in the three days I was there, the espresso bar was never open by 9:00am. So I never got to grab a coffee at the hotel lobby before heading out for the day. Luckily, Starbucks was handy just down the road apiece.
Housekeeping was spot on for the entire stay. If towels need changing, or something needed cleaning, they were all over it. English while not being anyone working at the hotels primary language, didn't manage to abate communication at all. We all got through it. English at the front desk however, is somewhat superior to the rest of the staff. A great staff I might add. All in all a good hotel, and if again traveling through Chengdu, it'd be on my list.
Excellent Hotel
JennyS39_12on 23/06/2015 10:09On a very busy corner, near the main road, but had no problem with sound form the road. Lovely room, excellent bathroom and coffee and tea making facilities. Wonderful staff with a good deal of English spoken. Good breakfast, mainly Asian though. But bacon and eggs available.
Highly recommended. A 15 minute walk to a very large department store and supermarket.
