Not consistent
Stephen Gon 21/05/2014 08:22This hotel is pretty basic and when something goes wrong it does not get fixed quickly. When I arrived there was a power cut which affected the TV and when I left three days later the TV channels were still not re tuned despite many promises. If you like something at breakfast one particular morning there is no guarantee it will be available the next day and the coffee is dreadful. I stayed during the week of Wod Kan and the noise outside the hotel during the evening from crowds of drinkers was not good as it was too hot and this made it difficult to leave the window open. Avoid and spend a little more is my advice.
Served a purpose
Stephen Gon 08/05/2013 10:33Stayed here whilst attending Wod Kan 2013 as we do every year and the rooms are pretty basic to the point of not even having a phone in them but having said that at least they had decent WiFi (unlike Crown Plaza Hannover where I was this week) and a cable connection also. The other big problem was I could not charge anything to the room and I needed laundry one day which they didn't do themselves and ten a bottle of water another night as it was so humid. The breakfast area is too busy if yo hit it at the wrong time so beware.
Friendly Staff
Haydn Hon 11/02/2013 17:04We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel as a school group visiting from the UK (3 teachers and 6 children). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, quiet and quite spacious considering the hotel's star rating. A generous breakfast was included and on the Thursday a selection of doughnuts were also available due to "Fat Thursday" - a tradition that the Polish celebrate before Lent. A pleasant surprise.
In summary an excellent budget hotel that I would visit again.
Excellent Customer Service
littlesthobo77on 12/07/2012 15:11We stayed at this hotel for a week while attending for Euro 2012. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement! As none of us had been to Poland before, we were not sure of the standard of accomodation and booked this "2 star" hotel accepting that it was just a place to sleep at night. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted very warmly which set the tone for the rest of our stay. Throughout the week the staff could not do enough for us, no request to big or small. In particular, Ola (who worked on the bar) and Karolina in reception, were excellent at making sure everything went smoothly. The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were spacious enough. I am not sure how the rating system in Poland works but I'm guessing that the fact the hotel didnt have a restaurant within its four walls is taken into account (there is one across the car park in a different building).
The hotel did have a breakfast room where a full contintental breakfast was served, all tastes being catered for - the only downside (which doesnt affect everyone) is that the coffee served at breakfast is instant. You do have the option of going out to the bar where Ola will gladly serve you a proper coffee which is a small extra charge.
If for any reason I return to Bydgoszcz (which is a lovely little town) I will definitely stay here!
This hotel deserves more than three stars with its staff and their customer service ethos at the heart of a good hotel.
