Looking for a Lake George experience without breaking the bank?

If you are tired of looking at motels/hotels on Lake George that come with huge price tags with little in return, Pine Point offers an excellent alternative. It is located directly on nearby Lake Vanare (10 minute drive from downtown Lake George.) Hotel owner Ed is on site and is the friendliest, most helpful proprietor you'll find.

More so, the lake is beautiful. The motel rooms are rustic but spotless and spacious. Cabins are closer to the water, so if you have the money and/or big family, I would recommend a cabin with water view. We had a 2-night stay (family of four) and the motel room was perfect. My daughter and I took advantage of the free paddleboats and we played badminton. Husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the small beach at night.

Bar and grill next door was friendly and food fine for what we were looking for (burgers and fries, chicken wings, etc.)

Overall, a refreshing, relaxing lakeside experience! Thanks Ed!

off the trail and very friendly

My mistake of not reserving when it was the week of "Americade" cycle confab at Lake George. But Ed saved my day and night with a room left over and at the same cost as the rest of the year. The host and his daughter are the epitome of hospitality even when the world outside of the hotel was roaring with cycles.
We had a clean room, good beds and even a shared kitchenette. And the rooms were adequately quiet even before the bikers settled down.
Normally this is a very quiet place and a wonderful retreat from the bustle of Lake George.

    A Fabulous find!

This is a rustic but well maintained property. It is on Lake Vanare and it has a small sandy beach with chairs. There are rowboats and canoes to use free of charge. Everyone seems to be a regular there as guests return year after year. We were there on Labor Day weekend and now we are going back for Columbus Day weekend. The rooms are motels or cabins, and some have a fireplace. If you want to have that cabin in the woods feel with a campy atmosphere, this is the place! Wifi was not great. It works best next to the office.

    Simple, old fashioned, and fabulous

My teenaged boys and I spent a week in the Oaks cabin. It is old fashioned and rustic, but with all the modern touches you need including as cable TV and WiFi. The cabins are rustic, but impeccably maintained. The beds are comfortable, the shower has good water pressure, and the cabin was immaculately clean. Even though the Oaks is not "lakefront", there are lake views from the living room and bedroom. I enjoyed that there was ample storage space for unpacking, a closet with hangers in addition to the dresser as well as extra shelves in the bathroom. The lake is fabulous. No motorboats so you feel safe let the kids explore on their own. Pine Point is a tremendous value.

    Perfection.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Branches cottage in May and loved it. We spend most of our trip talking about how lucky we were to have found such a nice place! As someone who recently worked as a housekeeping team leader (the person that inspects the hotel room before it is deemed 'clean') I am always very skeptical about cleanliness at hotels/bnb's/inns. This is the first place that I was sooo pleased with. Honestly, when you read these comments about the cleanliness know they are all true! So so incredibly clean. This cottage is right on the beach and has a beautiful big fireplace and a lovely screened in porch perfect for your morning coffee. The quiet country sounds of the lake were wonderful to fall asleep to. The shower water was hot and great pressure. The kitchen has everything you could need- toaster microwave, every type of dish/cookware you need. And the beach...well you just have to see it, it's adorable and fun. Boats to take out too! And the owner is so friendly and accommodating, he walked us to our cottage to show us around. If it's not obvious we will certainly be back!!
