Typical Hilton with a decent standard. We stayed in an executive room so had access to the lounge which is very useful. Happy hour has 2red and 2 white wines to choose from and most spirits and mixers. You help yourself which we had not experienced in other lounges. It can get very busy and is not huge so to get a table you need to be there promptly. At busy times the service can be slow, they ran out glasses, wine was not replenished and they can be slow to replenish the food. Seem short staffed. Breakfast was particularly slow for food to be sorted. As usual sort drinks, tea and coffee are available all day and a few sandwiches and tiny cakes appear between 3-5. The food in happy hour is reasonable, not as good as some of the lounges we have experienced but acceptable.
The best thing about this hotel is its position. It is opposite the CAT train city stop from the airport so you get off the train and walk straight into the hotel - very convenient.
Wi if is not free which is ridiculous in this day and age, however you can get it free in the lounge and we found if you stay logged in it then worked in our room also - this could have been because we were on the same floor as the executive lounge.
The most disappointing thing about Hilton is that despite being a gold card holder, because we booked through BA none of the privileges of the gold card are valid, hence no free wifi etc. Silly of Hilton as we will no longer choose a Hilton hotel on city breaks/ holidays etc if booked through a third party (often more convenient). We travel a lot so our business will got to Melia and IHG who are delighted for you to stay with them no matter how you booked.
We walked to most places from here and most sights are within a 30 min walk. We did get the subway to Schonbrunn as it was too far to walk in the cold wind, subway very easy to use .
The Christmas market at Schonbrunn was very sterile with no atmosphere but the one by the city hall Rathaus was excellent and the gluhwein kept us warm!
There are also some Christmas stalls around St Stephens which were nice.
Naschmarkt was great and we had a lovely lunch of schnitzel and potato salad with wine and beer for €23 for 2, much better value than in the city. Lots of restaurants there to choose from.

Well this was the first time we visited Vienna as a family and I have to say we were not disappointed. The Hilton did themselves proud as usual. Good brand and you always know what your getting not matter what country you're in. Great hotel and excellent staff. The xmas markets were superb. We arrived on the Frida and managed to get to the ones which had opened on the day which was very cool and busy but o Sat this just went from better to excellent. Some really nice markets to visit and all within the city and walking distance of the hotel so all good

This nice hotel, located right next to the terminal for the fastest train from city to the airport, has also a very nice views of the city from the higher floors. It is also situated on a walking distance from most of the Vienna's must see attractions. Check in was pleasant with helpful staff. Upon entry in to the room I found a nice letter from the hotel management together with some sweets and complimentary mineral water. The sleep was comfortable, and the early morning departure made easy with no stop check out.

Currently staying in this excellent hotel and couldn’t be happier with the room, service and location. Right next to the Mitte station and a 10min walk to the cathedral square in the city.
As I’m a Hilton Honours member I received a complementary upgrade to an executive room which includes access to the lounge. This has been a wonderful treat for me and my mother on this special break away. We have taken full advantage of the lounge and really enjoyed the treat - thank you!
The staff are extremely attentive and nothing is too much bother.
The beds are very comfortable, rooms spotlessly clean and quiet. We have also used the sauna and steam room which is great after a cold day exploring the beautiful city.
Perfect hotel for a relaxing city break.

I booked a junior suite at this hotel as we took our 21 year old son with us for the weekend. On checking in we were told that our reservation had been cancelled. Several minutes passed before the front desk staff decided to check, despite me showing my confirmation number, and agreed that I did indeed have a room.
The room was a nice corner room with excellent views of the city, but the second bed supplied was just about big enough for a child, never mind a 6’1” professional cricketer.” On talking to the front desk I was told that this was a normal sized extra bed, which is of course ridiculous.
The upshot of all this is that the staff worked hard to resolve our issues. We were given a bigger suite with a double sofa bed, that was adequate and the hotel provided complementary dinner for us, which was very pleasant.
However the biggest issue we had was the air conditioning or rather the total lack of it. Our room was like a sauna every night. It seems that there was nothing that could be done to change things as apparently “the air conditioning reacts to the outside temperature.
On the plus side the location of this hotel is excellent. A short stroll from the centre of Vienna and only a few years from the meeting point of some of the hop-on hop-off sightseeing busses.
Try to get a room with exec lounge access as a glass of wine in the evening and a decent breakfast were pleasant. But, get there late at your peril. There is not much seating and spaces were at a premium.
All in all a pleasant stay, staff worked hard to deal with our issues and because of this I would certainly come back.
