Went in November for a meal for two to celebrate a birthday. The menu is restricted - which is sensible for a small restuarant cooking fresh, but there was plenty we fancied and the service was friendly. ( I personally am quite happy with local young staff - which other reviewers have criticised - provided they are competent and attentive, which our waitress was.)
It is not cheap - but I don't think overpriced either, and it is great to have a local restuarant with interesting dishes.

Visited the restaurant on a Monday night. There is not much else open on Mondays so we were glad to find something that looked good. The food was good and service was fine. Decor was awful (Formica meets fleur-de-Lys). £33 for a 3 course meal was not too bad but the add-ons and the 12.5% service charge made it VASTLY overpriced. My husband said “I feel as if I’ve been to a posh cafe and been ripped off”.

We spent £96 for 2 people (with only one glass of wine in that) and left surprised about the other good reviews. The main issue is the lack of atmosphere, really felt like the breakfast room of a hotel rather than a restaurant. Cheap furnishings, neither modern nor old-worlde - just bland and not thought out. The food was fine, but at £33 for 3 courses over-priced in our opinion. Even on a Friday evening there were only 3 or 4 tables filled, with equivalent amount of teenage waiting staff on hand - fewer more experienced staff would have worked out better. So much could be done in such an old building in a nice village, but there's a reason it's not full.....

We went to the Vine House for a birthday celebration dinner and were not disappointed. The food was exceptional and the service spot on. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Top notch dining here all the time.
Great place to get a room as well.Very clean and well run.Just 10 min to Towcester at the most so handy for being close to all the main attractions in the area.
