When we stay in the Roanoke area while travelling, you can bet we will always stay here. Everything about this Quality Inn was great, the employees were very friendly, the room was roomy and very comfortable, the breakfast was terrific, it was one of the best breakfast we encountered on our travels and the price could not be beat !!! Almost half of what we paid elsewhere. It's very clean in my opinion and very welcoming. Great Job Quality Inn Tanglewood !!!

Poor internet service 460 kbps speed dirty

Internet slow black mold or something around the tub control. stayed for a week they did not replace the coffee and shampoo in the room, didn't clean the room 1 day ice build up in the refrigerator, and did not vacuum the room.

Nice room, good location, poor management.

Newly painted room, nice bed, TV and bathroom. BUT the reading light on the right side of the bed didn't work, the usb plug socket didn't work (told the front desk), there was no toilet paper (had to get it ourselves from Reception), no water glasses in the room, the key didn't work (wasn't programmed), and...for those needing quiet...it was a very noisy room at the front of the building (outside road noise).

The room was not ready on check in or when we returned 40 mins later....bed not made and door left ajar.

ALL the bottom floor rooms to the left of Reception (5 in total) were left open (doors ajar and partially open) all Sunday evening and overnight. ANYONE could have gone in those rooms, stolen the TVs, the bedding, everything. It was very strange and not very safe.

Someone had previously smoked in the non-smoking room we booked and there was a burn hole in the quilt...I told the manager on duty who said they would "charge" the previous occupants. How do they know who did it? When it was done? If it was the previous occupant shouldn't the person who made the bed have reported it and changed the quilt before we were booked into that room? As non-smokers we found the smoke smell & burn hole nasty.

After booking with Choice Hotels during the duration of our 4 week vacation and traveling from Florida to Virginia and back again...I have to say the woman that checked us in Sunday night at this Quality Inn was the most unwelcoming front desk person I have ever come across. As a long time Choice Hotel member I found her attitude very strange since most Choice Hotel desk staff are very polite and professional. It was like we were an inconvenience to her, no smile, an angry attitude, almost disrespectful, not at all welcoming (I came very close to just going to the Hilton Hotel across the street for the 2 days stay as we did the previous year).

The location of this motel is good, the price is good, but with so many other hotel choices they need to realise that the attitude of the staff has as much to do with returning customers as price does.

Strange poloicies and rude

i made a reservation here so myself and girlfriend could relax one evening,I went to check in and was told locals were not allowed and debit cards not accepted,I am a choice hotel gold member and was told all this and also after picking my girlfriend up from work I would have to come by with her Identificationmshe said she would make an exception this one time and would let us stay since it was already paid for,I was told it is a franchise owned by Indians and they make their own rules,not the rules of choice hotels,I will never stay there again!

Newly renovated

This hotel has recently been completely renovated, and it was great! The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Check in/out was quick and smooth, and the people at the front desk were very friendly. The internet works well. It is located on a street with plenty of places to eat or purchase gas. The breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, toast, yogurt, etc.
