What People are saying

Lovely location

RachyA1989on 26/09/2017 13:12

We opted to stay here instead of Cinque Terre so we could enjoy the peace and quiet.

The hotel picked us up from Bonassola train station which I would advise as it's a very steep climb up which is slightly exhausting without luggage let alone with! The transport links are good with hourly trains to the villages.

The rooms are simple but charming, the bathroom is a bit small but not the end of the world. We had a room with a balcony that afforded us a beautiful sea view. The breakfast was ok, standard continental with breads, cheese and pastries. We ate in the restaurant on the first night but after I fell ill after eating (may not have been related but I didn't want to risk it) we found a great place in Monterosso.

My only real complaint was the noise level. You couldn't have a lay in past 7 as the downstairs became really noisy even though breakfast isn't served until 8 and you could hear the other guests in the surrounding rooms slamming doors or using the bathroom. One guest decided at midnight to walk in what sounded like heels on the tiled floor and was dragging chairs and furniture around on the floor above us.

The sunset from the hotel is stunning and the peace and quiet of the surroundings is lovely but somewhat ruined by the noise from the hotel.

Overrated Hotel!

Lovely location, nice environment and an amazingly nice view from the balcony. The rooms were small but good planed for 4 beds! The room were rather fallen and could need a renovation. The day we arrived there were lots of ants on all skirting in the room, on the floor, in the roof and in the beds. Unpleasant for the whole family! The handyman sprayed the room and then we had to ask them to change the beddings! Two days later all towels in the bathroom were filled with ants. No compensation from the hotel or apologise! Normally on vacation the kids get crisps and ice tea but we couldn't allowed them to eat anything in the room just to avoid more ants! The room was poorly cleaned, lots of dust under the beds and on the furniture. The breakfast was ok. Good parking space and a shortcut to the beach, quite steep but it generated many laughs😊

A little gem of paradise

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings with exceptional views.
Its a steep walk up from the beach but only 10 mins.
Lots of cosy chill out areas for early evening cocktails and relaxation.
Breakfast is lovingly prepared and can be enjoyed in the gardens overlooking the sea. Would recommend.

Loved everything about this place

This hotel is set on the hill above Bonassola with panoramic views of the surrounding hills and coast. It is not 5* luxury but it has the personality and character that is so much more important.

The staff were helpful right from the start to the finish with local info and providing a lift down to the station with my bags (do not try to walk it). They are also happy to bring you a beer or some wine whilst you sit on the terrace - I could have just sat there for hours taking in the views and their beautiful gardens. There are lots of common spaces for you to sit around and relax and the hotel has a decent restaurant with, again, outstandingly welcoming staff.

The rooms were quirky rather than luxurious. The bathroom could perhaps stand a little modernisation but everything was spotless. Couldn't afford room with balcony but I'm sure these would have been perfect. As it was, I appreciated as a solo traveller that the single room wasn't too tiny and that you got a decent sized bed.

I highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in its own right and also as an excellent base for visiting the Cinque Terre.

Great view and cozy

The location on the hillside gives a great view over the sea and the surroundings. 5-6 mns walk downhill to the beach and city center. The hotel needs some refurbishing on the rooms. Very friendly and service minded staff. The breakfast buffet is good wth lots of things to choose from.
