We dined here during a visit to our daughter, who is currently based in Modena (Full disclosure: her partner is a chef at this restaurant). We had an eight-course tasting menu with matched wines, and the whole experience was memorable. There are some very inventive minds in the kitchen, and between them they conjured up a meal of contrasting yet complementary flavours and textures. The knowledgeable sommelier took us through each of the wines he had chosen and explained why he had selected it. Fine dining can be a bit stressful; but this was a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable meal. It is not cheap (you can expect to pay about 100 Euros per head) but well worth it for a special occasion.

... been at the Osteria Francescana a few months ago I was wondering how rhe second best restaurant in Modena will perform...
And boy it performed... much better then the Osteria Francescana...
More creativity, more sexappeal to the food..

Went with a reasonably large group and we had a nine course tasting menu which overall was incredible. A great blend of flavours and textures throughout accompanied by some wonderful wine. Especially recommend the red wine " Apice Rosso from Terre D'Este 2011. Location is great and the staff are very attentive and informative. Only slight niggle was the Ink pasta which was certainly not the favourite of everyone on the table.
