Aranyszarvas (Golden Deer) an evergreen restaurant located in an historic place on the Buda side of town, close to Danube river. Well known for ist fine game dishes prepared folllowing old Hungarian recipes. A family play-ground, during summeer time outdoor-garden. Fresh ingredients, notable Hungarian wines, friendly service.

This place is not easy to find but once inside it is such a cosy atmosphere.
The food is really well prepared and it is a very good price for such 'gastro' meals. Nice experience of Hungarian food and really nice time spent there.

Highly recommended restaurant, me and my husband had a wonderful night in Aranyszarvas. Everything was amazing, strong combination but sophisticated flavors.

Since we first discovered the place by a complete chance back in 2010 after taking wrong exit of Buda castle, we keep coming back mainly to taste their creative variations of duck liver paté paired with Tokah wine, but we had a full dinner multiple times with the same belly-pleasing results. Nice to the eye, well balanced ingredients, creative approach, inventive chefs, friendly and helpful staff, good location. Definitely worth a visit when in Budapest, if only just for the duck paté.

The shef makes very original dishes with venison.There are big vine collection. Very nice dining room decoration and fast service.
