Wonderful place in the woods of Vizzavone

The villa is located in the woods of Vizzavone and is close to the main road. The villa is beautiful and is perfectly located to explore the woods. The 2 owners are great: they have given us excellent tips to go for walks, they provide all necessary information including maps. They really make you feel at home.
The room was not too big, but was nice and clean. The bed was a dream to sleep in.
Like coming home

Casa Alta is a very friendly place. Perfect place to stay if you are going to do some hiking around Vizzavona or if you, like we did, want a stopover in the mountains while traveling by train thru Corsica. You don’t need a car to get to Casa Alta. It’s a 10 min walk from Vizzavona train station, where you also find a nice restaurant.
The owner of Casa Alta speaks English and is extraordinary helpful and friendly and there are a lot of guidebooks and maps to help planning and add value to the atmosphere. We actually spend most of our stay in the living room. Two house cats was also part of the pleasant experience.
The place is beautifully located with views over the mountains and the forest. Room was clean and cosy with furniture in old style. Bed was ok. Free and fast wifi. Lovely breakfast with a lot of homemade products. Included in the price.
Negatives: A bit pricey (even thou most places are expensive in Corsica).
What to say ..... lovely place, great food and friendly owners

We loved this place which we visited during our one week Korsika journey.
We hope to come back for longer time in the near future.
Home made products, food, library, maps ... all those items available and served during breakfast and dinner...
A lovely stop on the GR20 route

We stayed in Casa Alta half way on the GR20 route in July 2015. What an amazing find! The house is lovely and beautifully located. The hosts are very helpful, and took great care of us when we turned up at their doorstep slightly disheveled after a week in the hills. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the breakfast was a joy with local cheeses, meats and fruit jams, and really good bread. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer - this is definitely a place to stay for at least a few days, and explore the beautiful local area. And they can make you a picnic basket too!
Such a lovely start to our GR20 trek

Vincent and Henry were very welcoming and the place is charming. Our room was super and the shower room had plenty of hot water, comfy bed etc. The breakfast was really exceptional. I'd said I was gluten free and there were several treats awaiting in the morning including chestnut cake and cheesecake, home made yogurt and confiture. Lovely coffee and orange/apple juice too. We were delighted with the place and highly recommend it for a pleasurable visit to this lovely part of Corsica. We had travelled by train from Bastia and enjoyed the scenery on the way - really is a special journey. Try include it on your itinery to a visit to Corsica.
