Comfortable, clean, very close to Snaefellsjoekull National Park

The hotel was a surprisingly nice and comfortable place. My family stayed there for two nights, we were impressed by how clean it was. For sure, there were no luxuries, but you do not go to this part of the world for a glamorous vacation. We got everything we need: clean room, comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathroom, decent breakfast, all for a reasonable price.
It is remote, the nearest place with a restaurant and a grocery store is in Olafsvik, good 20 minutes away. But we chose that place for a reason, and it worked out better than we expected.
Had everything you need

My boyfriend and I stayed one night. The codes to enter the hotel and our room were emailed to us. We got there in the early evening and there was hot coffee available. The room was clean and had basic amenities. Breakfast was included the next morning which had a variety of foods. We would definitely stay there again.
Good location

Good location for exploring the Snaefellnes peninsula. Comfortable room with large bathroom. Continental breakfast was more than enough to fuel up before you begin exploring. Only complaint is that we would have liked to have a mini fridge in the room. This was the only hotel room we have ever stayed in that didn't have one.
Nice hotel in the middle of not to much

The hotel is well functioning.
No reception but a login, which is OK
The darkening curtains could be better
Breakfast OK
We did miss somewhere to take our dinner. Hellisandur is very remote, one good advice is to bring your own food.
Modern self check-in Hotel to explore the snaefellsnes peninsula

The hotel is located directly at the main street, but still it is very quiet as there is not much traffic. The location to explore the snaefellsnes peninsula is just perfect.
This is a self-check-in hotel so only at breakfast time you will see the hotel staff. They send you a code for the main entrance and your hotel room, so if you make a short-term reservation you should contact the hotel immediately. Because there is mostly no hotel staff the price for a night is very reasonable in comparision to other hotels in Iceland.
The hotel offers spacious rooms with a middle european bathroom (which means the shower is covered; so when you take a shower the water does not spread in the whole bathroom).
There is free Wifi with a good bandwidth. For dinner you should just drive to Olafsvik (which is just between 5 and 10 minute).
The breakfast I would consider as on a good average level. Just what you expect from a continental breakfast.
