We loved everything about the 1906 Lodge from the first phone call to checkout.
I would stress that the 1906 is a B&B and not a hotel. They only have 17 rooms, and they all vary considerably. I called ahead and discussed my room needs with the innkeeper so she was able to assign the perfect room for us.
We had just come from a resort in the Palm Springs area where every little item was nickeled and dimed so I loved that food was included with the room! Coffee was out by 7am. 8am breakfast included a hot egg dish which looked spicy - generally not my thing - but was quite mild and very tasty. Wine at 5pm was a nice way to wind down before going out for dinner, and a cookie after dinner settled my sugar craving.
The garage ramp was a bit tight - I would leave the SUV at home if possible - but it was reassuring to know that we had parking and that it was secure. Check out the photo book in the living room for a fascinating look at how they built the garage!
Lastly, everything was clean, clean, clean! And my sheets were so comfy I am ordering a set for myself!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The inn was beautifully maintained and we were made to feel right at home. The breakfasts each morning were delicious! We took advantage of the beach gear and were thankful for them. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed at the 1906 Lodge last weekend for a long weekend with my wife. We have been to Coronado before but have never stayed there. We had a great stay at the 1906 Lodge. The staff was extremely nice, the rooms were extremely clean and the breakfasts were really good. The 1906 had private parking underground and being a block or so off of Orange, was extremely quiet.
The beach and the Del Coronado Hotel were about a block and a half a way as well as some fantastic restaurants.
My wife and I decided to take out the bikes that the 1906 has available and had a blast riding around the island on the bikes. They also have golf carts for rent if the bike is too adventurous for you.
If you want to stay away from the commercial "Del" and experience something very low key, then we highly recommend the 1906.

This was our first stay in Coronado after tiring of the congestion in the Mission/Pacific beach area of San Diego. So glad we tried this - the hotel is in a wonderful location - close enough to the beach and Orange Ave, but just far enough away to find solace. Breakfast was a real treat and we loved the cocktail hour every afternoon. Staff went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. The hotel was clean and had ice, coffee, tea and water available at hallway stations. Under ground parking was perfect and included in the rate. We rented a golf cart (from them) one afternoon and drove around the island, it was way better than retrieving the car then trying to find a place to park out and about. I'd go back without hesitation.

This inn is a well run, well- kept gem just a few blocks from Orange Avenue and the Hotel Del Coronado. The rooms are all unique and roomy with ensuite baths. Breakfast is amazing and is only outdone by the bountiful happy hour. Underground parking is available. Bikes are also available for periods of two hours. The inn also has beach chairs available for use by the guests. You will not be disappointed.
