The accommodations met our needs but didn't exceed. There was an odd smell, the bathroom was small, and the AC worked sporadically. Staff was friendly but check out was hectic. Next time I visit London, I would explore other options. The patio was excellent and made it worth it though.
196 Bishopsgate - in May 2017

Stayed in a 2-bedroom on the '1st' floor of the building the last half of May 2017 [9 nights].
Initial walk-in thoughts upon first entry >
Spacious - 2 bedrooms with full kitchen and living room and bathroom with washer/dryer.
No doorstops and somewhat musty smell (we requested door stops and they brought them for all the doors the next day - helped to air it out and the musty smell subsided)
The apartment we stayed in had one small a/c unit on the wall - about 9 feet up in one of the rooms - only went down to 18 degrees celsius - but the 2nd bedroom had NO A/C but you could open 2 windows about 10 inches. There were a few fans in the apartment already - but they either didn't work or made horrendous noise once they were turned on. We requested the staff bring us several more fans and they did - we had 4 fans going in the apartment in various rooms. It helped on the cooler days, but the days that it was in the 70s it was still horribly hot in the apartment and didn't ever cool down.
London was experiencing somewhat of a heatwave for their normal temperatures so it was understandable that the apartment was hot. But I am from the US and used to A/C - and it isn't pointed out prominently online that there is 'limited' A/C in the apartments - this should be corrected.
The bathroom > per usual european setups (i'm guessing) - the shower only has half a glass partition - so if you're not careful and put towels down on the floor - after you're done showering you'll have tons of water on the floor. '
The washer/dryer - a bit outdated and didn't always work - so you had to find certain settings that did work. Took several hours for some loads to be done and others took 45 mins, which was strange. They need to provide clearer directions for users (in addition to the manual they have in the room that's limited in instructions)
Wifi - didnt connect in the bedrooms - only a good connection when in the main living room. Would request that this be fixed.
Mattress - the mattress in the room I was in was two twins zipped together - with what felt like a huge crater/crack down the middle where the two mattresses came together - so sleeping on this mattress wasn't the best because you felt like you were falling into the middle of the bed into a vast crater. Bedding I'd rate very low. Covers were a duvet and had several pillows on the bed.
The full kitchen was great - able to cook meals and stock the refrigerator.
Tesco Metro 'discount' grocery store was just 1-2 blocks from the apartment so it made carrying groceries in very easy.
Good restaurants in the area. Plenty of choices,
Liverpool Street tube station is easy to walk across the street to and in 30 mins you can be to Victoria tube station.
Location is far east of most 'tourist' attractions - but if you're looking for spacious somewhat cost efficient place to stay - this is it.
I'd stay here again, but not on the cusp of summer. If you want a cool place in the summer and are used to a/c - I don't recommend this place.
If you're for business or want a basic apartment - I would recommend this place.
Good location, good value

Our apartment overlooked Bishopsgate which was extremely busy from 0800 to about 2400 but was seldom too noisy. Nice rooms, nice shower and the washer/dryer was appreciated. Bedroom and living room separated by double doors with the kitchen and living room together. Many bars and restaurants close by and about a 15-20 minute walk to St. Paul's cathedral. Liverpool train station is right across the street, bus stop out front and a grocery store is a minutes walk. I'd stay again.

The apartment is directly opposite to the Liverpool street station and with lots of bus passes by. My family with 4 people booked an apartment with 2 rooms and a living room and a bathroom. The room was spacious and neat. Some comments said the staff was unfriendly but I didn't feel that. Most of the time, they carried smile on their face.
