Came away for a break , booked through Thomson lovely looking hotel on the outside but sadly our Thomson apartments were at the basement !!!! Not as the modernised apartments they advertised as they were the first 2 floors which were more modern and upgraded. Our apartments were very basic bed and towels changed every other day shower was always FREEZING COLD!!! bathroom door was very squeaky we had to put sun tan oil on it to stop the noise!!! It was the last week they are open but SURLEY if you have paid for your stay B&B you should not run out of basic breakfast food or beer !! Which they did.
Seems they don't cater for last minute holiday makers !! We all pay the same!! , and why aren't the basement apartments having the same upgrade as the top floors ????
Won't be staying at this hotel but would love to stay at another the island was beautiful X

Good-hotel is in great location,was immaculately clean,and has wonderful panoramic views over the coastline.The beach nearby is wonderful..Bad-Breaskfast was a basic as you can get.Not enough sun beds round pool.Slightly atmosphereless,with a constant supply of Greek pop music every day.Bad- initially we were given the "dungeon" room.Room 17/18.The view was of 4 walls,with little window,light,etc.!Also,it smelt musty.In the 2weeks we were there,as well as ourselves,we noticed at least 2/3 (all British!) lots of guests be put in there and then move rooms.Why,don,t they use this room as a courtesy room,for people to shower,if they have an evening flight?This hotel could and should be worth 5 stars.!,if run a lot better.

The view from the balcony is fabulous, but thats the only positive thing about this hotel. They want to be a top class hotel, but they fail on so many levels..
I ordered and payed and got a Superior suite/room. Well the room was bigger than the others, and the view was great, Greek plumbing is not of high standard, I know this. But you dont expect the water to flow all over the floor when you are in a shower cabinet.. This due to a leak in the showertray. In addition the door to the shower cabinet was taped to the wall and couldnt be shut. See my pictures. The pool area was nice as long as you didnt look into the pool. The water was dirty and grumsy and the pool was cleaned one hour in the evening only. Breakfast was a minimum. .The staff: The cleaning lady did a good job and was nice. The two boys running the hotel was arrogant. Price Level: 3 euro for a cup of coffee.. The stay was not worth the money. Also the traffic is rather disturbing from my room.

Good standard of hotel for the price tag. 10 or so minute walk to the town center so I wouldn't recommend this for people with walking difficulties. Views are amazing and staff are very friendly. Only downside was they insisted you bought water from the hotel which I found a bit tight.

The positives: yes it's in a great location, for both the town and the beach. Yes it's ideally placed for bus stop 4.
We weren't quite in the basement, just 1 floor above. We expect basic from Greece, but always clean & well kept. Room 6 was damp and smelled damp for the 2 weeks we were there, despite leaving the patio door open. The bed base had mould growing on it and the walls were damp. The smell permeated our clothes and my hair.
But the worst thing was when the people in the room above took a shower, their waste water poured through the extractor fan above our shower, and I mean poured! Not a trickle! One day I was in the shower when it happened, looked up and the water hit me in the face!! Yuk!!
When we reported this, the response was 'what is happening in this building?' but nothing was done about it, throughout the rest of our stay. Apart from the risk of infections from the waste water, it was an electric extractor fan for goodness sake! Electrocution of guests would not be a great advert for the place! Not to mention the poor guest!!
We loved Skiathos town and Megali Ammos beach, but would suggest you avoid room 6 at the Aria at all costs!!!
