Very Helpful Management

We stayed at the Brunnholl Guesthouse for two nights. The rooms are nice with wonderful views of the countryside. The view from our room was of an enormous glacier. The food in the restaurant was good, but nothing special. The soup was quite good. You pretty well have to eat dinner there because it is quite a distance to the nearest restaurant in Hofn. The guesthouse is very rural, but it was perfect for us. The hotel is associated with a dairy farm and they make wonderful ice cream. The lady who runs the guesthouse was extremely helpful. We had an injury that day. A member of our party fell and badly cut the palm of his hand. They phoned the clinic in Hofn and arranged for medical assistance that included several stitches. We were very grateful for the help. We would not have known what to do on our own.
Overall it's average.

First of all the rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable, but the bathroom reminds of hospitals. Not a pleasant reminder on a vacation!
No phone service anywhere and really bad wifi (although I must add this wasn't factored into the rating. We're on vacation and don't need reception).
Breakfast was ok. Not the best we've had in Iceland, but not the worst.
Dinner was average at best. We are all vegetarians and there was one vegetarian option on the menu with no possibility for soup (they didn't make any that night!). We were served a vegetable pie that didn't resemble anything I'd ever seen. I make a better quiche than that! (I'm not a chef cook)
Ice cream was phenomenal! One of the best I've had!
It I had the choice I'd skip this place and rather go to Foss Hotel. At least with them you know you get good food and a nice room... At the same exorbitant price!!
Good guesthouse

Good service, good food, free breakfast, beautiful views, nice sitting areas and homey atmosphere. Great place to see the Northern lights (not in the summer, I guess). Close to glaciers. Comfortable beds.
Very delicious ice-cream!

We had two rooms close to the reception which were very spacious and silent for the night. There was also a TV in the room and a water boiler with tea-bags.
Bathroom and toilet in the same small room, shower on same level with toilet (no shower tray, only shower curtain) which means wet bathroom which had to be wiped after shower use.
Dinner was excellent and the homemade ice-cream delicious! Highly recommended!
Wifi was not working during our stay. Except missing wifi we had a perfect time there!
Spacious room

We spent our first night in Iceland at this lovely guesthouse. We were travelling with our teenage daughter and as we were sharing a room we were thrilled to find our room spacious and clean. Plenty of hot water for all of us to shower. The room was quiet and had black out curtains which allowed us to fall asleep while still light outside.
The breakfast was adequate with cereals as well as cold cuts, cheese and bread. Lots of good strong coffee .
We would happily stay here again. They do offer a limited menu for lunch and dinner but we were too tired to try it our first night.
This is not a five star hotel but exactly what we wanted for our tour of Iceland!
