Very good motel in a great location for visiting the Blue Mountains

This is a very good, small motel within easy walking distance of Echo Point and the Three Sisters.

The rooms are typical motel bedrooms: a good size, a small wardrobe, not much drawer space, a fridge, a little table and two chairs, a TV, tea and coffe making facilities, and a large, comfortable double bed. The bathroom is fairly basic but the shower is excellent, with great water pressure and a good supply of hot water, and it is easy to get the balance right between hot and cold water. There is also free wifi.

The motel has a small diner which serves really good food. The portion sizes are very generous. I had soup followed by the Works Burger, both of which were really good. The Works Burger is a big beast but it was excellent and, after a full day walking in the Blue Mountains, was just what I needed. Breakfast is served in the diner. The Continental breakfast is a fairly typical motel buffet breakfast, but the fresh fruit is from a local farm and is very very good. There are cooked dishes for which you have to pay extra. The motel doesn't have a bar but drinks are available from a fridge in reception.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and our bedroom and the public areas were clean and well maintained.

The motel is in a residential area and is a 20 minute walk from the centre of Katoomba where there is a good range of shops and restaurants, but it is only a 5 minute walk from Echo Point. The view from Echo Point is stunning but it is a major tourist attraction so it is best avoided during the day. We went there at about 7.30am; the valley was shrouded in clouds and the mountains poked through reflecting the early morning light creating a magnificent view.

If you can't get to Echo Point in the evening or early morning to avoid the crowds then I would advise going to Sublime Point instead. It's in Leure, the next town along from Katoomba and just a 15 drive from the 3 Sisters Motel but you'll need a SatNav to be sure of finding it. The view here is almost as good as that at Echo Point, but it is much much quieter and doesn't have two large viewing platforms to accommodate the crowds, just a small viewing area on the edge of the cliff.

The motel is within easy driving distance of a number of great attractions in the Blue Mountains. If you are visiting the area and looking for good quality budget accommodation as a base for a few nights, then the 3 Sisters Motel would be a very good place to stay.

This is a real find. The owners are lovely people and nothing is too much trouble. The motel is close to stop 12 on the explorer bus which was great for me as I have mobility problems. Lovely breakfast and the bonus of evening meals as well as the wine. The area is very beautiful with many places to visit. Lots of help with information. If I ever get back to the Blue Mountains, this is where you will find me

Very friendly and helpful staff.
The room was clean and comfortable. It wasn't too far from the main street in Katoomba but it was still quiet.
Surprised at how good the shower pressure was.
Would stay again.

Overall a very good experience . the owners Pat & Debbie were very friendly .

the room was clean , beds very comfortable & just a short walk to Echo Point &Three Sisters . Our hosts informed us on arrival that they had changed our room to a quieter area as there were young people who might be a bit noisy
