Me and a friend stayed in the twin room at the front of the property, it is a little snug but we had alot of kit, but has everything you needed including TV , cupboard space, tea coffee facilities and a sink. We were running a ultra marathon on South Downs so had to be away at 5.30am which the owner said wasn't a problem and left the breakfast room open for us which was very kind.He also arranged taxis and recommended a evening meal place for us, we also had a parking space, the road outside at night is quiet, as it only goes mainly to the hospital.Everything was very clean including white towels and quilts and very comfortable bed, i would defiantly stay here again.
one-night stay, convenient to University

We enjoyed a one-night stay at 31 Queen's Road in a cozy, comfortable double room with views of the garden. Nice breakfast options were available in the well-appointed dining room. The location is convenient to the University and the hospital, both within walking distance. A clean pub is also within walking distance, where we had a nice supper with friendly service. A longer walk was enjoyed, downhill, to the Cathedral. We wanted to catch a taxi back to the lodging for the night, but could not locate one near High Street (apparently they all hang near the rail station).
Excellent

Thank you so much for the stay, such a homely feeling. Rooms are modern and spacious excellent for what I needed. Within a 10 minute walk from the city centre this B&B is really well situated. Many bars and restaurants near by, looking forward to a return visit. Thanks again, Des.

I really enjoyed staying at this B&B. We received a warm welcome from the owner. Our room was clean, there was a place to park and the breakfast was very good. The walk to town was easy and direct and goes right past the Great Hall. Would definitely stay here again.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend stay at 31 Queens Road.
Quite basic, but homely, very comfortable bed, we stayed in double with en suite which was all clean.
We stayed for 2 nights, and the facilities were ample, plenty of towels, chocolates, biscuits, tea coffee, all the toiletries etc.
Breakfast was a lovely continental selection with fresh coffee, lots of cereal/porridge/muesli choices, juice, fruit, yogurts, and then croissant or toast offered from the owner along with cheeses and jams, marmite, Nutella etc. Very nice and ample selection!
The owner was very friendly and helpful, no problems checking in, all very straightforward, and he was helpful in directing us where to go and giving advice on the area.
B&B is a bit out of main town but it's a nice walk. It's near the university and the hospital.
Would definitely stay here again for a weekend in Winchester.
