A normal hotel with a good view and breakfast

We stayed here for one night after our hiking trip. We had the standard room. The rooms were actually quite outdated, but we still got a good night's sleep, despite the fact that we were located right next to the driveway on the first floor. We could have also upgraded our room to include a sauna for an extra 12€, but we did not use that option. Our friends we were traveling with had a family room, and had separate beds for all of their three children, and a sauna. We could not hear any noise from the rooms next to ours, and the water pressure in the shower was good (we appreciated this, after an overnight hiking trip).

The breakfast was delicious with some local touches, like dried cranberries, and you could even bake your own waffles for dessert. There was also a selection of breads, muesli, fruits etc. We had more than enough to eat, and there were surprisingly many lactose-free options as well (like yoghurt and milk). The view from the breakfast restaurant showcases a nice scenery of the Finnish Lapland, since there is also a skiing slope there, and the hotel is located on top of a hill.

Overall, it was a good stay. Nothing special, and not much to complain about. So if you are in Rovaniemi area, it's an option to stay here.

Totally amazing and magical stay

We visited the sky hotel via Thomsons holidays, the hotel was very welcoming and the staff very friendly and efficient. Sat at the top of the hill over looking Rovaniemi the hotel has the best views!

Out the back the ski slopes are a bonus, but make great walks in the deep snow! Couldn't recommend it enough as it was so magical and close to the Arctic Circle and Santas Village which are a must do!

We enjoyed husky sleigh rides and reindeer sleigh rides which are a must do! One night of the stay while enjoying food in the restaurant we even was blessed with seeing the northern lights which are clearly seen some nights from the hotel!

Simply perfect! But in December it gets up to -35 so wrap up warm! :)

We will be back!

A reasonably good hotel

We were 7 adults staying for 6 nights in 3 rooms over the New Year period. It was a pleasant stay.
The hotel is situated on top of a hill, around 10 minutes drive to the centre of Rovaniemi. Very conveniently located for winter sports as the ski lift ends around 100 metres from the hotel entrance. Otherwise, no shops or nowhere to eat in the vicinity of the hotel unless one goes to the centre.
It is an average hotel, the rooms were of a good size, however the rooms had a step inside, which could easily lead to a fall. Otherwise the room was comfortable, and wife was ok too.
Breakfast was ok, nothing grand. So were the evening meals which were buffets. The choice of dishes served never varied much from one day to the next, and even its presentation was nothing to write home about. I would say that both the food are the service were, all in all, quite average. Though one must say that the view from the restaurant is quite scenic.
I'm not sure if the hotel had a lift. Our rooms were on the ground floor, and we always had to go up to the first floor to dine.

we had the last room at the end of the corridor which was a bit of a shlep but -we had a fire place and a private sauna. It was a lovely room with a great view and it was warm and cozy and clean and big

Because who doesn't want warm tiled flooring after a long day outside in the snow? Beds are super comfy and soft, just want you NEED after a long day out in the snow. Staff is beyond helpful and sweet. Honestly they were absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful with booking trips, changing train tickets, you name it! Especially Maria at the reception desk, she went above and beyond to help even letting us use her cell phone. Thank you again so much!
