Very pleasant hotel

As other reviewers have said you do need a car for this hotel, although there was a bus stop outside. It's about an eight minute drive from Salem. All staff were very pleasant. On arrival, we were moved into a larger room as our booking for three was into a small room. The room was pleasantly furnished. We ate our evening meal there. The food was good but we had to wait a long time for the bill, probably because the restaurant garden was crammed with people. It's obviously a popular place to come.
A very pleasant place and people in quiet area

A really pleasant family runs this typical German guesthouse. Good Wifi and breakfast, comfortable rooms in a quiet location. Although the address is Salem, it's actually in a smaller village called Beuren. There's nothing in the immediate area, so you'll need a car. Thoroughly recommended.
One of our least favorite stays during a 34 day trip

My husband and I stayed one night here in June 2013.
Pros: Breakfast included (just OK, no fresh fruit). Good restaurant. Accepts credit cards. Cable TV with English CNN. hairdryer. Non-smoking. Free parking (but limited spaces). Can cancel up to day of arrival.
Cons.: Closed Wednesdays. Hotel "Reception" is located at the bar. No elevator. VERY small room (unable to open our suitcases and have any room to get to bed). Very small bathroom: Only one person at a time can get into the bathroom (so-so lighting, walk-in shower). No A/C (room was hot). Poor cell phone reception. Extra firm mattress. Surcharge for internet.
I would not recommend this facility nor stay here again if in the area.
Excellent Service & Food!!

Not far from Meersburg, Located at a quaint little town. Family run inn & restaurant. An absolutely fantastic B&B - the hosts are so friendly and will chat with you anytime. Their two dogs are enormous and very well-behaved.
