Basic accommodation for an overnight visit to Kihim

Was looking for spending 2017 Diwali, with family at a place which would be quieter than Mumbai and within 2-3 hours of travel. Bumped on Aarhaah Holiday Home on the net / tripadvisor. Didn't have many options available due to festival season and after reading the few reviews and checking availability booked this place for an overnight stay.
The place is very basic, may be suitable for large family or friends group who would mostly be out on sight seeing for the day and would need a place to rest for the night. Although some rooms are AC, they could have been better. The one which was allotted to us was very small, even for two people, vis-a-vis the charge and did not have cupboard to keep clothes, etc. One non-ac room was stinking with smell of DDT / pesticide smell, although we asked for change of room, there was none available.
Bedsheets and towels could be better.
The staff was cooperative though, and the food we had there (dinner) was very good, in terms of quantity and taste. They do not have restaurant so you have to pre-book your meals and they get you nice home made food, with local flavour.
Although the total property area is quite big and additional accommodation is under construction, the place can be maintained better and more brighter.
Place is not open to beach, but very close by. There is a nice little temple next door which was a good place to visit, seeking blessings, on the Diwali New Year.
Over all an average experience, the only plus was the food.
Best place for friends/couples

This place is located very close to the kihim beach and is awesome place to stay with friends or as couples. View is best if you have open balcony attached to your room. You can have snacks, tea etc with your partner in balcony. Food was not included in our package and had to go out for it, but there are many lunch homes/restaurants near by. Rooms are spacious and quiet. We had our room facing the front and balcony attached. It was a nice experience
Decent stay for the price

This is a small guest house, 5 mins walk from kihim beach. At the price they are quite good. Some rooms have small attached baths, so check the rooms if booking on the spot , if booking online then ask for room on first floor with entrance in balcony. As this place is surrounded by greenery don't expect zero insects but the guest house should do regular pest control. There is no restaurant in this guest house but you get basic food & beverages, there is a decent restaurant nearby (2min walk). The place has parking for about 5 cars inside.
Good place to stay if you can avoid dealing with the rude owner

I have stayed here twice. The property is value for money, staff is courteous and helpful with lots of greenery. However, the owner either does not like city people or is just plainly rude.. There is a list of rules which are not told to you but plastered in corners of the walls no one would notice..if you do not happen to read or adhere to them, you may get the feeling you are not on holiday but in a military camp.. for e.g we happen to come back post 11pm at the gates were shut..we called the number and the owner did give us a hearing for crossing deadline! I enjoyed my holiday, except for this attitude-luckily we checked out the next day.. Value for money stay, if you don't have to deal with the owner.I would have ideally given a rating..
Quite decent stay almost at beach

It's a decent, calm, peaceful little hotel. They have beautiful small garden in front, and ample parking place. Also, balcony on the first floor has a good view. The place is very clean, but not at all luxurious. The staff is very pleasant to talk to and take good care of you. There's no fooding facility in the hotel except for tea, though it can be arranged easily as the staff has contacts of many restaurants nearby. The areas near the hotel are sight worthy too.
One important thing: the roads leading to this little hotel from Alibaug are in real real bad situation. This might become a little issue if you plan to travel at night.
Overall a very nice place if you are on a tight budget, and want to stay as close to beach as possible. This is just 2-3 minute walk from Kihim beach, which itself is just 10kms from Alibaug beach
