Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. I was a little worried about getting a small room and the noise levels but I didn't need to worry at all. We did get the opportunity to upgrade to a courtyard room, which I'm glad we did as it was really special. We had french doors opening out onto the biggest courtyard I've ever seen, covered in astro turf. We were there for my daughters 10th birthday and she was ecstatic when she saw this. Another lovely surprise was the knock at the door at 8pm to find one of the lovely staff from reception holding a huge bunch of balloons and a box of Lindt chocolates as a way to say Happy Birthday from the Ultimo. If you love Asian food, it is a perfect location one street over from China town. There is everything you need on your doorstep. The train station is a 10 min walk and the CBD 15 mins. This is a heritage listed building, so if you are after a boutique, character hotel at a reasonable price, this is it.

The hotel location was good but the staffs are not friendly and the can't really sleep with noise from downstair.
The room has no sleeping light which makes it hard to get up midnight and the floor upstair squeezzz

The hotel room was very clean and the hotel staffs were so polite and friendly. However, the hotel WiFi was terrible in my room.. I'm not sure that the WiFi in the whole of the hotel was bad or just in my room, though.

Well thinking I had booked in to a cheap rough hotel I was gladly proved wrong the welcome at reception was outstanding very informative and pleasant when arriving in the room I was even more pleased as it has just been refurbished and everything was clean crisp and fresh the bed unlike most hotels was absolutely comfortable the bathroom I must say is one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel clean and extremely well fitted out. free coffee in the foyer was an added bonus I cannot recommend this place a highly enough it is a hidden gem.

Flawless. Across the board. Superb, friendly staff, impeccably serviced rooms, amazing location, and incredible value for money. Nothing more to be said really. Other than I would absolutely recommend The Ultimo to anyone visiting Sydney, whether for a short break or long stay.
