What People are saying

Close to Everything

Stayed there on two occasions and my room was fine. Great view over the railway, and coming from the country the hustle and bustle was terrific to watch. When you closed your window it cut out the sound of traffic, so that was good. It was a very short walk from the Roma Street Transit Centre, and just a short walk to my doctors. The novelty of being near McDonalds was great, as we only got away to the city once a year basically. I got a bus from the airport which dropped me off and picked me up again (prebooked from home, but Im sure reception would help there). Happy to stay there again.

Appalling

Stayed here twice- first visit pool out of service on the hottest weekend of the year... gave it another try this weekend... apartment was filthy dirty.. 3 blood stains on bedroom floor ? When was this last cleaned, air conditioner and kitchen vents absolutely and totally beyond.. curtains dirty, marker pen all over the floor, mouldy in the bathroom, 2/3 lights in bathroom not working, lights in living room not working... this could be a fantastic complex given its location but there is obviously no upkeep or maintenance being done. Will never ever stay here again....

Two stays both different

Due to its great location we stayed here both before and after our tour to Longreach but rail, our stays were on the 6th and 4th floors, the first shower was great but the steam obviously is making the laminate fall off everything, the fans and ducts were in need of cleaning and the bed was great, the second- shower-hardly any flow bed very soft however the cabinets etc had been updated. I must agreed with a lot of comments that the reception practices seem very lengthy and although we didn't have a car l thought it strange that you needed to book and pay extra if you did require a car park-over all the location will still bring me back here, just to be able to walk across the road from the transit centre is very appealing.

Not for me

Stayed here as a stop over between camping. Firstly the appartment is a decent size, clean towels and bed linen but everything else not so good. The room we stayed in needs a serious make over. Holes in couch, walls, carpet very worn ect . Everything looked dirty i kept my shoes on until bed as i didnt want to touch anything. Car park is an extra $20 and wifi and extra $10 , i would reccommend booking a slightly better hotel that has this inclusive.

If the owners only spent a little money it would be great

Stayed here for 1 night with work due to its close proximity to the office. It is also directly opposite a main Brisbane railway and bus interchange. If you arrive after 6pm reception is unattended and access it via intercom outside and then a phone to get the code to the safe where the room keys kept in the lobby. On first impression, the room (1-bedroom apartment) appears spacious and well laid out, the kitchen is well equipment for a longer stay (see photos) large fridge, microwave, hotplate etc. it’s upon closer inspection that things start coming unhinged.

I looked up at the large air vent in the kitchen and it didn’t surprise me that the A/C didn’t work, the vent hadn’t been cleaned in ages and was very furry (see photos) the A/C was fixed on about 24-26*C, fortunately I was there when it was still winter, I would hate to have to be there during a humid Brisbane summer or in fact any other time of the year, consequently had to have the balcony door and bedroom window open most of the night until the street noise even on level 10 forced me to close things up. The lounge looked like it was picked up at the 2nd hand store, see photos, worn down past the fabric until the white base fabric was showing through, I dared not sit on it, looked like a CIS setting. Moderate sized flat screen TV, a remote control clearly is an optional extra my work didn’t pay for when making the booking. Turned the place inside out trying to find one, so no A/C and no TV.

Bathroom was ok but old, cracked tiles around hand basin see photos. Bedroom, the bed again appears to have been collected from a 2nd hand store, well past its used by date, one of those that you roll into the centre because the springs are gone. After seeing the condition of other areas, I pulled back the sheets to check they had been recycle from the past guest, to find that the sheets were for a smaller sized bed, see photo of bare mattress showing. A very poor night’s sleep and glad I wasn’t there any longer unlike several work colleagues who were there for 5 nights.

See Photo of the internet rates, they really hit you in the wallet there.

When I checked out in the morning I told the lady at reception that the A/C didn’t work, there was no remote for the TV so it couldn't be used and the bed needed to be replaced, her only response was “OK” nothing else, so clearly, they get that type of comment regularly either that or they really couldn’t care less. It’s a pity because fix the items mentioned and it would be a not a bad place to stay however ……1 Star. PS my work colleague have christened the Abby the Scabby.
