Checked in and enjoyed lunch before travelling onto The Ark, Amazing location and views and very enjoyable buffet lunch, The Ark and Aberdare are owned by the same company you have to check in and pay at here and then they give take you on a short transfer or you can drive yourself to The Ark in the national park. All staff are very friendly and hospitable next time I will arrange to stay here. See you again soon

We spent 3 nights at Aberdare CC. We most enjoyed the beauty of the grounds, the historic home and colonial feel, the quiet, and the variety of wildlife that wander about freely. In fact, guests are requested to stay strictly on the main road in daytime,and not even go there at night, due to the leopards, cape buffalo, giraffe etc. We opted for the full meal plan, which was a really huge amount of food. We would have preferred an offering of half-board, but to order meals a la carte was just as expensive as full-board. Be aware that even if you pay for the full meal plan, you are charged for bottled water with meals. (Free bottled water is provided in the room). The staff were quite pleasant and friendly; however we got various answers to our questions, so perhaps staff would benefit from some consistent training. Thinking this hotel was like others with a pool and workout facility, I enjoyed an hour there one afternoon. But upon leaving, the attendant said that I owed $50 for going in the sauna and pool. The manager helpfully explained the difference between 'residents' and 'non-residents' charges, but I am still confused about that. The rate card in the room indicates $20 to use the pool, $30 for the sauna, etc. In fact every activity has an associated charge: golf, fishing, biking, tennis and so on, even the nature walk. However, the hotel was lovely, very clean, comfortable beds, good food, and it does offer a lot of activities to the guests. We would definitely recommend it.

The Aberdare Country Club is a top class escape into the country. From the moment you arrive the service from Richard and his staff is second to none. Beautiful grounds with many animals wandering freely, such as Zebra, Bush Buck, Water Buck and Wart Hogs. Ask for the Giraffe Walk, the very knowledgable Jeremiah will show you more of the above plus Baboons and Giraffe. The restaurant and bar are colonial in style and the food excellent as is the service. The rooms are in cottage chalets around the grounds, they are large and well appointed. As this a relaxing break resort, tv's are not in the rooms, but free wifi is available. There is a heated pool and sun deck, a well appointed gym and spa. For the adventurous there are mountain bikes and horse riding. Whilst there take the opportunity to visit The Ark inside the Aberdare National Game Park and see Africa's wildlife up close.

Its a Beautiful and Vast Place, The scenery is breathtaking, A few days here shall charge you for months!! Nature walk, Hot water Pool and Tennis Court , we made full use of all these facilities ( Nature Walk is payable) We went in the Rainy season it was lush Green and we had a memorable time

Wonderful weather with an amazing view of mt.Kenya and a national park is next to the lodge. Private,big and quiet room, food was great and nice staff....would bring you an unforgettable trip in Kenya. Only water was not clear in the bathroom.
