What People are saying

Lovely surprise

Gabriel B on 17/11/2017 00:42

We chose the Aberdeen because it is near the ferry port. We had an early ferry to Wales. Caught in hurricane Ophelia on the Cliffs of Moher we drove back to Dublin a night early and called at the last minute to see if they could take us a night early. We pulled in at 23:30 and were greeted with coffee, tea and biscuits. We unwound as the owner have us the lay of the land. Breakfast is very good and they provide a variety of choices. The service was exceptional and the property charming. The breakfast room is cheery and bright with a nice patio and garden in the back. The parlor is comfortable and charming. We spent a part of the afternoon chatting with other guests. Great wi-fi and a lovely neighborhood with plenty of places to eat . We'll definitely stay here again.

Fab B&B

Wow. Stayed here as part of a Virgin Experience Days trip and what a place. Very lovely gardens and house. Staff very friendly and attentive and the owner always on hand to have a chat and give ideas of what to do in the area.
Why 4/5? The only thing I could fault is that the carpets are rather worn in places and could do with replacing.
Would definitely stay here again.

Home away from Home.

Our first 4 nights stay in Dublin was chosen to be at Aberdeen Lodge, purely by chance, we liked the name and the reviews,We were tired after a long flight from Australia and were met by Anne a sheer delight the Hostess with the mostest , Cup of tea before we went up to our rooms, her helping girls took our luggage up while we sat in most comfortable Drawing room sipping our tea, This Lodge has about 26 rooms from memory ,with people from all over the country visiting here, They serve the most Beautiful Breakfast, with lots of choices, the bread is also very tasty as are the sweet treats, They don't serve a main meal but they are close to Mulligans pub and A Italian Restaurant bot worth trying also a small cafe that serves lovely Pancakes. Didn't matter what time we used the Drawing room , The staff were there offering tea or Coffee with Bikkies,Typhoon Ophelia hit 3 days into our stay and were advised not to Travel to Galway, by the owners, a wise choice as our Hotel there was flooded out the front, so we stayed another extra night at the Lodge, This Lodge is well run and Homely, Clean and comfy beds, Both owners are very helpful if you run into difficulties and go out of their way to be helpful, We would definitely stay in this Lodge on our return to Ireland, Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Calm and good service

Great choice for staying in Dublin. The B & B is in a quiet part of town, with easy access to the city center. Servers very helpful, they informed us about the tourist attractions and also of good options for dinner. the breakfast is excellent. The pancakes were delicious. We recommend everyone who wants to know this beautiful country and be well received.

Some Good & More Poor

Good; Beautiful area, safe, good parking, really nice staff, good transport links, good breakfast served at your table.

Not So Good: The welcome was good with tea or coffee offered and luggage taken to our room. Our room was on the top floor [so be warned if your not good on your feet, you wont make it to your room, no lift] The room was dated, bed was small with old style bedding of sheets and top cover, very heavy, floors creek, one channel on a very dated TV works, shower over bath was powerful and hot, but bath has been sprayed and is really badly chipped and worn, the double glazing unit in window had failed leaving no real view out, the other window had mould on window sill. Woken on second day by guests leaving 6am, paper thin walls and banging doors [they had no consideration for other guests not leaving, German I think] leaving the key at reception is a bit old school.
It did the job, but overpriced and over stared****.
Would I stay again? NO.
Would I recommend it?
I'll leave that up to you, a modern Premier Inn is better value.
If your after the dated Irish experience, with diddly dee music playing in the background, tea served in the drawing room [which was lovely] and a bedroom from your grannies, it's the place for you. Really for modern day it need a fortune spent on it.
