What People are saying

Convenience

Hello Fellow travellers
We used this hotel as a matter of convenience to stay in for its proximity to a sporting event for four days. The hotel is situated in a reasonable new area of Badajoz. You really need to go to the south of the bridge for good restaurants. There is no bar in the hotel only an open dispenser. tRoom was clean and extras available wi fi, cooler, tv etc.Breakfast ,parking extras. We did manage to park less than 50m from the hotel
. Breakfast which we tried once was a pretty grim affair as far as the food was concerned. At 11 euros a shot per person,I was glad that only my wife tried it out. However on the other side of the road was morning cafe, which cost us a measly 3.5 euros and was excellent.
The one saving grace is that its only about 10 minutes from Portugal then to a small village (town?) called Elvas where if you are a fish lover you can enjoy fabulous selection of shelfish etc at a restaurant called Christos. Not the cheapest, but where is fish cheap?
For what we paid for this Hotel (our fault) ,our fellow competitors paid nearly half the price for their accomodation.
We learn and will certainly not go there again!!!

Comfortable Hotel.

Stayed here for a few weeks recently on business. The reception staff are friendly, courteous and most speak English so check in and out was no problem. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was fine. Room and bathroom cleaned everyday, clean bed linen and towels as required. Shower great with good pressure and plenty of hot water as required. There is food available in the hotel and I ate there on a few occasions, bar is open from about 8.30pm with the usual drinks available. There are plenty of bars and eating places within a short walking distance from the hotel, so you should not be stuck for somewhere to get food and drinks.Hotel has a garage for your car and it costs 9 Euro per night. Parking around about the hotel can get busy with few spaces available. Breakfast there is a good selection of food available, although the scrambled egg could be improved. Breakfast time can get very busy with coach parties that stay at the hotel.Avoid if you can. I would stay here when in the area again.

DISAPPOINTING FOR A MARRIOTT-AFFILIATE HOTEL

LTMiranda on 19/05/2017 13:53

We stayed in this hotel after a long and tiring day at Fatima's Centennial celebration. I understand, we arrived about 30-minutes later than intended. We were a group of 56 pilgrims and the lady at the reception was not very accommodating. She was short with answering questions and you can feel that she was really irritated with her tone of voice. I am a PLATINUM Marriott Rewards Member and was just going to ask a question regarding my benefits in staying in their hotel and she just cut me short. I was not expecting to accumulate points considering it was not directly booked with Marriott. But I just needed to know if I have free internet access, for example, and she just cut me off. I don't know if we paid extra to have dinner. But we had a late dinner and the arroz was not cooked right. When we made mention of this, we were told that it was. We ARE rice-eating people and we know when it is cooked or not. I had to skip that course and be content with the soup and the rest of the meal. The head-waiter was professional. The male waiter, Sergio, was very nice and accommodating. The young lady server was not so nice. I don't know if it was a language barrier, I did speak in Spanish, and just dismissed me when I made a comment on the food. They did not offer any alternative to the partially-cooked rice dish. There was buffet breakfast and that was ample. The rooms are clean and spacious, along with the bathroom. BUT I WILL NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

City break

The room was clean and tidy. I would not say according to English standards that this was a luxury or even a 4 star hotel. There was noise from other guest all the time. You could hear the television from next door rooms. People in the corridors don't seem to realise other people may need some quiet time. The bar was not open on a weekend! There was a communion party going on for the whole day and there were lots of children!
Internet was available free in the reception and restaurant area but you had to pay for it in your room. Is this 2017? Technology should be available for free in all hotels by now.
For the money, I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Reasonable!

I stayed at the AC Hotel Badajoz from 02-04-2017 until 03-02-2017. The first room I was given had the window facing the garden. Fine! But too hot! As with most hotels in Spain, they have two switches for the A/C. Hot or Cold...and at this time of the year, with temperatures ranging between 17 and 23ºC, the A/C was on Hot! The hotel receptionist allowed me to change room and I moved to a different room, less hot, but...facing Avenida de Elvas! So, it was not easy to sleep with all those cars, buses, motorcycles driving up and down the road. Apart from this "small" detail, everything else was fine, as expected from a four (yes 4...) star hotel.
